Although I have been an avid reader since childhood, I only discovered romance seven years ago and immediately fell in love with the heroes, the heroines, the historicals, the alpha males, the English nobleman, the American cowboy, and finally the hard working contemporary detective, architect, or handyman. Many things make up my list of favorite things in romance but I have to love the hero or...forget it.
Since I review for AAR and previous to that wrote many Amazon reviews, I have included both the AAR and Amazon reviews in their entirety. Keeping fairly detailed notes over the years of the books I have read, I have recorded thoughts, observations, reactions and such of approximately 1,000 romances. Most of those notes are not complete reviews in that they do not provide a plot synopsis but I am gradually adding those notes in the review section. Placing my thoughts on Shelfari of these many books will take months, if not years, (as most of you understand).
Tags have been especially fun since I have created a few that I am certain are rarely seen if not totally unique. "Tried and Couldn't Make It" are those books I chose not to finish for one reason or another. I do not grade these books and therefore there are no stars marked on the rating but the comments under the review portion will certainly let you know the level of my disgust. Although I disliked most of these books, there are a number I didn't finish because they were boring or contained a plot element I dislike such as a hateful heroine. Which leads me to another tag favorite - "Hateful Heroine". There is something satisfying about placing this tag on a book - a sort of "gotcha" for the heroine.
