I've already peeked at much of this book, hope to use for grad school thesis research. Illustrations are fantastic to relate to!

Some good observations and points, didn't make me as angry as I thought (still did a little). Wonder what changes he would make today. Reading for grad school.

I feel like I've actually met Rosie and her mom. Sometimes I felt like I WAS them. While I occasionally got lost or glossy in a few paragraphs that seemed a little "too much" or "off topic," I was also reading extremely fast to find out what happened next, and how the new pain or change was going to transform the characters. Still love Anne's style/voice and word choice, especially the unexpected comparisons.

I was a little skeptical when reviews said this book was funny, but meaningful and faith-thought provoking... and that is exactly what it is. Even if you don't entirely share her beliefs, you can respect her deeply for her experiences, learning, and how it all changed her. Her writing style gets five stars - not just the humor, but her word choice and flow is delightful.

Wow. You never know where these stories are going to end up. I especially like the last one, on how people try to outdo their neighbors. Santaland Diaries a very close second. Easy to read short stories, definitely recommend!

Very interesting and fairly easy-to-understand reasoning behind common problems with what we eat. Would have rated it higher but it sometimes sounds like an advertisement (although not nearly as much as Rubin's other book, Perfect Weight America).

I had a lot of mixed feelings about this book. More often than not I felt the plot was predictable, although interesting. It was not a "I can't put it down!" read, but it did hold my attention. For the most part I liked the author's style, but sometimes felt it was bogging me down during the more intense parts of the plot.
