“I read this in high school when I was bored and my mom's abundance of Danielle Steel was beckoning. I don't really remember any of it. It was one of those things like when I'm bored at work and I'm putting away Harlequin romances and I start flipping through one and before I know it I've read it. It just happened! My high school boyfriend once told me I needed to stop reading self-help books like Danielle Steel. It always makes me laugh when I think about it. ”

“I was robbed once. The burglar took the DVD of Girl With a Pearl Earring but left the book, which he really should've taken instead. Beautifully descriptive story about a girl hired to work in the home of the Dutch painter, Vermeer.”

“I only read this out of complete boredom when I had to spend a Christmas at my dad's with five of my siblings. It was good enough so that I read the other two Potter books lying around, but it didn't captivate me enough to make an effort to read the rest of the series.”
