This book is great for summer reading. Smart enough to alleviate the shame you felt while reading Harlequin beach trash, but captivating and light enough so that it doesn't bog down your effervescence. And what an ending!

I read this in high school when I was bored and my mom's abundance of Danielle Steel was beckoning. I don't really remember any of it. It was one of those things like when I'm bored at work and I'm putting away Harlequin romances and I start flipping through one and before I know it I've read it. It just happened! My high school boyfriend once told me I needed to stop reading self-help books like Danielle Steel. It always makes me laugh when I think about it.

I was robbed once. The burglar took the DVD of Girl With a Pearl Earring but left the book, which he really should've taken instead. Beautifully descriptive story about a girl hired to work in the home of the Dutch painter, Vermeer.

I agree with Deanne when she says that every high school student should read this book. Nevertheless, it's a big metaphor in a short book that anyone will enjoy.

I only read this out of complete boredom when I had to spend a Christmas at my dad's with five of my siblings. It was good enough so that I read the other two Potter books lying around, but it didn't captivate me enough to make an effort to read the rest of the series.

If you like the series Rome, you'll like this book. It's epic, literally.

I'm really not an Atwood fan, if you couldn't tell.

I hated every character in this book. It was painful to read.
