Hi Shelia, I see you added "Dear John" to your shelf. I read it last week and loved it. Quick easy read but you will need tissues.
loved Time Travelers Wife, FWIW. The Help is rated quite high here. Will also look at Sarah's Key. What is 1rae? I need a new audio, too.
Hey Bird, have you read the book "the help?" I was astounded to see you come up as "owns this book" when I clicked on it. Let me know. I need something new to read.
My TBR list gets longer everyday. Look forward to being friends and sharing good books!
Sheila I read The Help, I think you would like it. I am going to read Catcher in The Rye and The Elegance of The Hedgehog. Kate
Sheila I read Those Who Save Us and really enjoyed it. Kate
Hi Sheila,First, welcome to the Minneapolis-St.Paul-Minnesota group! I see that you've already posted on the group, but please also post on the introductions thread. We'd love to get to know you a little better.I have a quick question regarding your post on the Nominations for the Fall Group Read thread. Both of the books you posted about sound great, but it also sounds like you've read both of them already. Usually (but not always) people nominate books that they haven't read yet. So did you mean to nominate these books - or just recommend them in general? Also, nominations are limited to one book per person. We've actually already read a book by Stanley Gordon West - Growing an Inch. It was our Spring 2009 Group Read. Our opinions of this book were overall very high, but we probably don't want to read another book by the same author so soon.I'm going to assume that you DID mean to nominate both books for the group read. And since we've already read a Gordon West book, I'll take Those Who Save Us as your official nomination. If that's not what you want, please let me know or post on the thread to make the correctiion.Lastly, I checked out your bookshelves and it looks great! We must have similar taste, because we have a LOT of books in common. So I sent you a Friendship request. I think it would be fun to be your Shelfari friend :-)Doughgirl / Lynne
Hey Sheila, have you read "People of the Book" by Geraldine Brooks? I'm in the middle of the audio book. It's wonderful!
how do you have it? discs? Get this: I downloaded 'The Story of Edgar Sawtelle' from Audible with my credits. Usually they load "upsidedown" in my ipod. That is to say, I would click on the bottom-most part to begin. I don't know if I was on drugs or what... I thought "hmmm. odd book. confusing." Replayed a bunch of parts because they seemed important and I got lost. Thought I had drifted off and wasn't paying attention, but after replaying just figured, "hmm. well, I'm sure it will all come together at some point." I mean, afterall, the book is something like 21 hours long. So I'm going out to the chicken coop and wondering how Edgar is going to survive this cataclysmic event when all of the sudden the reader says "The End. I hope you have enjoyed this Audible Book." DUH! I started on the last of three parts! How could I be so STUPID!
so the host... not so good?
so, would "hot six" be a good audio book for the camping trip? A good family read?:)
You are amazing - Someday I'm going to read some of these! bc
Thanks Sheila I need pick up some of these books. Thanks for the recommendation. Kate
