I now practice transcendental meditation and Bhakti yoga. This profile shows you my favorite book of all, "This Is PK Mind Over Matter." I think that everybody should know about this book... more »

    Eclectic Book Club Peeps:

All righty, let's have those nominations for our next big read. What's everyone in the mood for?

Post your selections in the "Genres" thread and we'll hash it out. If that takes too much energy, I will put all genres nominated in a hat and pick one at random!

    A Poem for Today

Everything I Think I’m Missing by Dana Faulds

    I am struggling. There’s who I
believe I ought to be and who
    I really am. It’s humbling, isn’t
it? This being, this mystery, this me
sits here radiating energy, yet I’m
gripped by a nameless fear that I’m
    missing exactly what I came
    to experience.

    I am suffering, telling myself
stories of what life should look
like. And then I get the message
like a meteor, like the power
    coming back on after hours
    in a storm.

    This life, this extraordinary
    imperfection, this moment
just as it is, is all I’m here
    to receive. The infuriating
limitless simplicity of day to day
    living holds everything
    I think I’m missing.

Thanks for the note you left for me already a while ago. I did not respond so quickly due to some circumstances. I am really sorry for that. I like the story you told me about yourself. I am about the same age turning 30 in May. I also like to read about meditation and getting some peace especially through Tai Chi Chuan. In Holland the flowerseason has started. The fields are fully coloured. I will go and relax and be inspired by the colours. How are you doing?
