I am a retired Elementary School Librarian. I read about 200 books a year. I belong to a women's group that is based on reading. We do not read the same books..just share what we read. I am a volunteer at my granddaughter's school library. I buy all my books but pass them on to my daughter-in-law and then the book club so cant mark "own" on... more »

    Capt Jackie is a great name, much better than Siamy! :) I love how talkative Siamese kitties are. My current kitty is an orange tabby, named Thomasina, but she has the body type and the talkative nature of a Siamese. :)

    Marty, I double checked and, yes I do own Minx. I thought I did because I remember shelving it ages ago (for that rainy day you know.) I may have to break out either that one or the two others in the loosely connected trilogy. I think Dancing at Midnight was one and Splendid was the other. Pretty sure I have all of them. Off the top of your head have you read those? If so, what did you think?

    I looked at my shelf for this answer. Of course, if I didn't like the book that much, I HATE to recommend it! You did ask, tho. I found five that weren't Kindles or something I wasn't sure you'd go for, but you can look yourself, read my tags to find out, if you want. Otherwise:

    - Border Lass by Amanda Scott
    - Shelters of Stone by Jean Auel (if you've read any of this series; they mostly aren't stand-alones)
    - True Believer by Nicholas Sparks
    - Crazy in Love by Luanne Rice
    - Another Chance to Dream by Lynn Kurland

    Marty I cannot find my copy of Moon Over Water (aka The Sooner The Better) by Debbie Macomber. I know I just had it, I think my nephew was re-arranging my books a bit looking for something. I will send it as soon as I find it though. Hope you don't mind the delay.

    Hi Marty - I loved Hunger Games - started Catching Fire this morning and am half way through it. Will probably finish it by tomorrow night and then I will go right to Mockingjay. It's such a great series.
