“I enjoyed this book very much. War time London was beautifully evoked, and I enjoyed Fowler's funny, offbeat writing style. The characters were well drawn, and I look forward to reading others in the series. I knocked off one star because I thought the plot lagged a bit in the middle where I found the lengthy physical descriptions of the theatre to be rather arcane. A terrific start to the series.”
