Hi Cat Bauer, welcome to Play Book Tag! Each month, a random group member chooses a tag from the top 200 Shelfari tags - August's tag is ]i]inspirational. When you read a book that is tagged inspirational (or even just a book you think fits the tag, we're flexible) post a short review on the discussion thread entitled August tag: our collective reads for our shelf. From there, the book will be placed on the PBT shelf and hopefully discussion will ensue!

II haven't read any of the books on your shelf but the book you are currently reading, The World Before Her, looks interesting!

    See you on PBT!

    Happy reading,
    Nicole

Many congrats on writing a sequel to Harley, Cat! I loved Harley, and cannot wait to read the new one. I don't know how you found me on here, but I'm sure glad you did. I read a ton of YAL, and am writing a memoir I hope to publish some day. Can you please provide me any tips on how to get published? I want to share my story and imagination with the world so bad, and join your world, the world of published (and well-known) writers. Thanks so much!

Cat, There is a forum for questions about how to use Shelfari. You should be able to see my comments. If not, until that is fixed, you can click on my homepage to read your latest comments so you don't have to respond by memory. I'll send you links from time to time. Clearly, every space is matter of networking. The only to learn to navigate here is to use the system. If you're relying solely on emails in your box and simply replying to those links only, I don't see how you'll ever truly learn to reach all the members you can on this site. On my homepage, there is an option on the upper, right side of the screen to send a private message. You are not limited to posting messages to me publicly.
If there is something you want to learn to do here let me know. To get help about how to use the forum and your home page, here is the link: http://www.shelfari.com/groups/10000/about. Peace. ~zawadi

    Cat,
I feel this way because each time I try to talk to you, you want to talk about your book. You could know plenty about me if you simply asked and interacted with me in the forums. I have no doubt about your commitment to the genre or your work, but I have been trying to you, Cat. I'm as chatty as they come and pretty open so there's no reason to remain clueless. So what would you like to know? Peace. ~zawadi

I realize your primary mission is to sell your book, but you talk as if there is ONLY your books. I'm beginning to feel as if you're corresponding solely to further promoting your book on my page.

I'm pretty passionate about Color Online but I'm not ramming it down your throat. I ask about you and you come back to your book. I read tons of YA. I borrow from the library. I read comp copies. I run a library with zero budget so sorry to say it takes me a while before I buy books especially new books. I do a lot through trade, donations and bargain shopping.

I respect your passion for your work but if there is only Harley to talk about, I'll write you again after I've read it. Peace. ~zawadi

    Hi Cat,
I'm very aware of Walter Dean Myers. His work is on my bookshelf and in our library. We've got to get you up to speed. A bit of an investment here will pay off. There are groups that actively promote authors but discussing your book, inviting you to a live chat and more. I encourage you make time to learn how to navigate here.
My profile is about me. I highlight women artist I enjoy but that also tells you something about me. The only info about Cassandra was her birthday and what kind of artist she is. I updated my page. For your convenience:

Cat, I clearly state I love her music. I talk plenty about who I am and I'm fairly actively in multiple groups so members here know my bio. On my profile there is a button that says 'more'. Click on it. I am the founder of Color Online, a lit study group for young women 14-20. I volunteer at a local non-profit where I run the library and the group. We have a group here. Do a Group search for Color Online. You'll also find a link to our blog and wish list in my profile. If you'd like to know more, feel free to ask or join me in the discussion forums. I'm pretty chatty. Really. lol Peace. ~zawadi. p.s. I change my avatar regularly as many members here do. :-)

I'm going to make a post to the the Shelfari Insiders forum about the author's page. Your page is really nice, but I wonder if I'm the only clueless member here who doesn't click on the Contributor's button with the front page is blank. I remember when it was rolled out but honestly, you're the first author I've checked out with this feature because you directed me to it. Thanks. ~zawadi

Hi Cat, no I did not look at your author page because I didn't know you had one. I clicked on your membership profile and this is what it says: member since Thursday, March 20 2008. If your membership profile told me you were an author, I would have looked. There is no reason for me to think to look in the Contributions section when the front page is blank or maybe I'm the only one who thinks like that. Peace. ~zawadi
