    Thank you.

I have read a few good books. Here is the info and reviews:

Stuff White People Like by Christian Lander: Hilarious, except when a point is made that makes the reader squirm. I highly recommend the book!

Playing for Pizza by John Grisham: This is not one of Grisham's usual legal thrillers. It is unexpectedly warm and funny; what happens to a washed up American quarterback who receives a contract with an Italian football team. By no means a technical book, it portrays the lives of team members who are always the underdogs. This was a fun and easy read…

Touching the Void by Joe Simpson: This is a true story of the survival of two men who attempted a mountain climb against many odds. When their adrenaline spiked, so did mine, when they were afraid, so was I. It is an adventure unlike none I have ever read. It will make you think of choices, priorities, courage and overcoming odds. I would highly recommend this book.

Dark Watch by John Sandford: Dead Watch introduces a new Sandford character that makes the book confusing at first. No Lucas Davenport, his "hero" of the Prey series. This one is a political mystery with corruption and some thrills. Jacob Winter is a "research analyst" for the White House and is asked to look into the situation of a missing former Senator. Free from the restraints of any government agency, Winter is able to "fix" the situation with relative ease.

The 25th Hour by David Benioff: Not so much a crime novel as an introspective look at three friends and their memories and actions before one of them is sent to prison. It is very interestingly written and kept my attention.

Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman: I couldn’t put this book down! Gaiman is an exceptional author and proves it once again in this book. It is about the “underworld” of London and the people that are its residents. One young man gets involved in this world and has adventure after adventure. Great read!!

Sorry for the length! Then I got hooked on re-reading John Connolly's series, which are good and scary...

    Talk to you later...

    Hi!
Well, I definitely would rather make a recommendation that way than just say 'yes'. This way, too, I find people with similar reading tastes. I don't expect constant contact from my friends, but I just check in once in awhile to say "hi". If you see any books I've added to my shelf, feel free to contact me, and I'll do the same for you.
    You are welcome,
    Karen

Thank you for inviting me to be your friend. I always ask, out of curiosity, what made you ask? I peeked at your shelf. There is quite a variety of books, and we do have many in common. Talk to you soon.
