I may be 51, but at heart I'm still a horse-crazy girl. To fill the time between riding lessons, I teach English at Roger Williams University (Bristol, R.I.) and Bristol Community College (Fall River, MA), take care of my birds, gerbils, fish, and husband of 12 years, and read. My favorite kinds of books are murder mysteries and novels, especially the ones with horses as the main ingredient (Dick Francis, Lyndon Stacey, Kit Ehrman, etc.), but I also enjoy well-researched historical fiction (Owen Parry, Diana Gabaldon, Sally Gunning, Barbara Hambly) or occasional non-fiction (Nathaniel Philbrick) and how-to/self-improvement books (Sally Swift, Carole Jackson). « less
