    Hi Cindy. Sometimes my morning book / night book routine works. Most of the time, one always ends up winning over the others because of how good it is and not being able to put it down. I think I read more than one book because I am so easily distracted and have little patience. lol. Whenever I discover an interesting book, I end up starting it even if I'm already reading another. This whole book ADHD is bad because I have so many books with bookmarks in them! Sometimes a few days or a couple of weeks will pass without my reading a book, but I'll jump back in the groove. But, I do have to restart anything not read in more than 2 weeks. I usually do eventually return to the books, execpt for Lost Hearts in Italy. I never made it to page 100. I really do need a 12-step program! Happy reading!

    Wow, I can't imagine how you have read all these books at such a young age. You must be terribly precocious! Keep on enjoying your reading, Ruby, and don't listen to people who tell you to "get your nose out of that book"!

    Hello, and thank you for the greeting. It is nice to hear from somebody!
    In fact, I have read "The Hobbit". I read it a few years ago. I also read "The Fellowship of the Ring", but have not read the rest of the trilogy. I really want to though, the first two were amazing. I also enjoyed the movies, though I felt slightly guilty watching them before reading the novels.
    I don't go by Allie, simply because one of my best friends is named Allison as well, and she goes by Allie. The name is painfully common, I sometimes wish I could be named something unique or exotic like characters from the Lord of the Rings trilogy or the Star Wars Saga.

    Hi Cindy! A fellow Minnesotan! Thanks for your note about Pillars of the Earth. Sounds like we had the same reaction to it. I actually found that his shallow treatment of women/sex made all of the rest of the book less believable, and I didn't even find it historically interesting because I didn't know if he was as off-base on all of it as he was on women. Too bad, because it could have been an interesting topic! It's so funny that you ask the question about men that you did, because I had the EXACT same thoughts going through my head. Maybe he just revealed the true male state of mind to us...yikes. I like to think not.

    I'm new to shelfari, so haven't had enough time yet to get my bookshelf stocked, aside from my very current reads. This is an addicting site! I'd love to know if you're reading anything right now that you'd recommend?

    Thanx for the book recommendation. I added it to my list of books to read. My list is getting way too long. I probably need to pare it down it little. Shelfari is kind of like going to an all-you-can-eat restaurant and taking more than you can handle. I keep finding more and more books that look good.

    Hi Cindy, appreciate your friendship. I also contribute to The Southern Poverty Law Center. They used to supply every school with a kit about hatred that many teachers used especially when studying the Holocaust. He is an incredible man with such courage.

    The reason I have so many books is because I started keeping a list in 1984 when so many teachers and friends asked me (the librarian) what to read and I never could remember what I just read. So, it was easy to list those books. I have some YA books on there but left off hundreds of the teen books. I love browsing other people's shelves and as a result I have a very large "wish list". Hope I live long enough to read them all. I also love to travel because of my years as an army brat and we've been to over 30 countries. Travel, reading and a wonderful husband and family. I feel blessed.

    Hello! Yes, I'm beadology because I bead! I made up the word because I'm also interested in psychology. I should say I used to bead; lately I haven't been too motivated. I keep trying to get back in to it so any encouragement you could offer would be appreciated! I also love to read.
