By the way, I've been cataloging my books. It's a tedious job, perfect for retirement. I'm getting to the last couple of rooms and may be done before the year it out. If I ever have to move, I'm in trouble. It's insane to have so many books: 7500 and counting. And I still buy them. They should put me away before I hurt myself. :-)LLon
Hey Michael,Thanks for appreciating the sign. I didn't take the photo. It's an image I found on the Internet years ago. I was cleaning up files and ran across it an thought it fit the site perfectly. How are you? I'm battling the ennui of retirement. I'll get the hang of it eventually I suspect. As death sentences go, it certainly beats most of them.I miss our conversations too. Very much. You are a patient and very intelligent listener. Not many bore my enthusiastic and often boorish mini-lectures with the grace and understanding you showed. :-) Where are you these days? Still coaching?LLon
This is war!
Whoa, Michael. This is a huge collection of read books. Does it go back aways? It must have taken hours just to record all of these titles. There are many powerful mental stimulents here. Quite of few are far from easy reads. Way far. I'm impressed by the breadth of your reading as well. You have a wide-ranging curiosity, clearly.LLon
oh my gosh! I would like to spend a few months just reading.... Your shelf is truly inspiring!!!
It rained a bit yesterday and today but that is about it. Nothing too bad. We've been pretty fortunate with weather this past year.
Well, not exactly. We can gather along the Mighty Mo and watch the trash float by. My picture was actually taken while on vacation in Chicago at Lake Michigan.
I just finished The Secret Life of Bees which is another coming o age story. Also, I would consider The Book Thief to be that also. Just very different times. How hard it is to grow up. It is a wonder we make it. You just have to love every mothering person - or parenting, but this is Mother's Day! in the world when you see the reality of so many. And try The Glass Castle for a teacher's family. Mmmmm. . . .
you are on a roll!
Very professional. Impressive photo.
What do you think of the HOushe of the Scorpion? I'll be interested to see how people react to a work like this for young people - or not-so-young people!
