I have probably forgotten more books than some people have read. What is listed is a sample.

Do you know of any books similar to The Secret Life of Walter Mitty by James Thurber?
I just read it and it is one of my favorites.

    Are we still at war?

How have you been? I'd like to hear about what's going on if you drop a line.

I've been reading a lot of metaphysical books that reference Castaneda. I'm interested in reading his work. Which book of his would you recommend I start with? What was your experience reading his work?

To paraphrase a famous person on Las Vegas-what happens on Shelfari stays in Shelfari!:-)

I really like the range of books that you've listed. I's forgotten about Anne Rice and Machiavelli(sic???)!

    Hi Bonita,

It seems like I've only been reading adolescent literature lately. I read The Giver and found it to be a fascinating futuristic book. I passed it on to my sister and mother who both enjoyed it. How about you, have you read anything interesting lately?

I saw a book on your bookshelf. I believe it was called Hand Maiden. I read the description because of the five stars and the description appealed to me. Is that the correct title?
