Hi Janet,It's been a while since I read American Gods. It is kind of dense, but I did enjoy it and was able to finish it. On the other hand - while it goes against all my OCD tendencies :-) , I can't see spending time on a book you're not enjoying. Life is short - read only what you really want to read - there are plenty of books out there. You could try putting it down, now, and trying again another time, too. Best luck, my friend!Cathy

Janet, You're a reading fiend!! I'm still reading Middle Sex. I think I read the same paragraph every night before bed with maybe one or two new sentences added. As I get older, I read slower...
Haven't actually read Virgin Suicides. It was just the only version they gave to indicate Middlesex. Let me know what you think of Tallgrass.
