Oh, you have such confidence in me! Your assessment of math and logic is quite right, but I must decline. I don't think it is calculation that bewilders me. I think it is hormones. When I was 14 I lost all my affinity for numbers and highly abstract concepts as my adolescence took over. I've never gotten it back and forty years later I am too old. I shall be content with my inability, but please be ready for a request for help from me!

I teach graphic design, i.e. commercial art. We have a two-year program to prepare students to design websites, publications, books, logos packaging, etc. The students are eager and I'm contented doing it!

    Hi Krishnan,
Thanks a lot for the information.
I agree that the prefix of term 'Vedic' for Mathemetics really doesn't carry much
meaning. I would rather prefer to call Ancient Indian Mathematics than for Vedic
    Mathematics.

The basic difference between Indian Science( Including Mathematics) and the
Science of rest of the workd is - There is no clear demarcation between Indian
Science and India Philosophy. We can't really make out where the elements of
    philosophy starts appearing in Science.
I feel Philosophy has always remained an integral part of Indian Science( Which
it should be and I completely support that).
On the contrary if we see the Modern day Science it has become more oriented towards Materialism. And I feel this is one of the reason why Indian Knowledge, however far stretched they were, did not gain grounds like others did.

Thanks a lot for the recommendation. I wil give it a try and let you know.

I do believe young Some 1 is trying to impress the girls, primarily. I've looked up Kerala and am reminded I've read "The God of Small Things" by the marvelous Arundhati Roy. I've also just finished 'Midnight's Children" by Salman Rushdie, so I have India on my mind. It seems Kerala is a most diverse and interesting place, quite cosmopolitan with a very informed people. And a lot of water.

You are very much true in saying that the Matematics part is not a part of Veda. I
have read some books on Vedas but never came acorss anything about
mathematics. But at some places I did came across some unusually big numbers
when dealing with topics like Yugas,Manvantaras etc. Thanks for the information.
Please do recommend any books in particular that might help me gain more
    insight into Vedas.
