Hi! How was your weekend? I saw that you plan to read Marquez' "Love in the Time of Cholera". That's a pretty awesome love story of a novel. Is it your first Marquez read? Marquez is a fantastic author. What a coincidence! I'm re-reading right now his "One Hundred Years of Solitude".
I've never completed any Woody Allen movie either. I don't think I'm so hot about his work or humor or wit. So there! Hahaha... Do I look like a doctor? Ah! The white shirt! ... That's funny! Coz of all the professions, being a doctor was the only one I never considered being! :)
Hhmm...so THAT challenging for the guys, huh? Guess, I just have to stick seeing them going hyper-ballistic watching basketball or some other contact sport. :) You mentioned Woody Allen? You like his movies?
Oh hey!! yeah, I do intend to read it, it sure sounds like a whole load of fun, aye!The author is the lead character of the book? wow, and she has a blog too? Care to share her blog url, so perhaps I can get to know her a little better before I get the book in my hands...! :))Thanks for the recommendation yeah!Do have a lovely weekend ahead!
well thank you.
About mushy books, one of the "games" me and my girlfriends do is to pass around a book and after everyone has read it, we make a tally who among us cried after reading it. That makes me think if I ought to dare my guy friends to do the same. Pretty challenging to them, you think? :)
Inspiring yet funny quotes, huh? Then you must read Oscar Wilde! His works are so full of wit - so funny, so entertaining, so delightful. His wit stings! Me liking poetry? It's not really high on my list but once in a while, I come across poems that do touch me deeply. Re different endings between the book and the film, I think one of them is "The Little Mermaid". In the book, I think the mermaid died but in the Disney animated film, Ariel lived. Of course, I may be wrong here.
Ah, the hiding by guys of their "soft" side, huh? But why, I wonder, when I think that makes for a more wholesome person! What would you say of girls like me who like Formula One races? Hahaha :) .... How about poetry? You like that?
Yup, I've seen "The Count of Monte Cristo" (both the one starring Richard Chamberlain and the other with Jim Caviezel as Edmund Dantes). But I haven't read the book yet. Dantes died in the book? That's not such a nice ending then. Boo-hoo-hoo. So I think, in this case, the movie is better than the book!
Oh, P.S. You like "Gone with the Wind" and "Love Story"? Nice films! Classic! I must say it's kinda' uncommon to find guys who like these kind of movies. Some guys think they're mushy! You're a welcome change. :)
Covey was also recommended to me and frankly I haven't read the 8th habit. Tho the book had an audio CD so maybe I can listen instead. Re books into movies, I was so eager for Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. Unfortunately, the film, while ok, was still below how I imagined the scenes to be. I guess that's the thing about comparing the movie with the book: reading the book depends on how imaginative the reader is. A film however is limited by the director, actors and actresses. The Narnia classic of The Witch, the Lion and the Wardrobe movie could be an exception, tho. I like that movie!... Thanks for accepting me as a friend! :)
You Like Stephen Covey, huh! Yup, pretty helpful book. There's the 8th habit now... Have you read any of Neil Gaiman's books? Stardust turned to a movie is fantastic!
Thanks for the friendship! If you're into self-help, I have quite a few books on leadership, self development and teamwork on my bookshelf that you might be interested in. Have a wonderful day!!
