I love to get lost in a book whether it is to help forget about work or just to enjoy myself. I love reading about anything- especially if it has a love story in it. Just tell me a good book to read and I will read it! I actually want to open a book store sometime down the road, I love nothing more than to share my love of reading with others!

Thanks for the book recommends. I've noted that the book has a very strong following of people. There are so many characters and so many possibilities for where the series currently is. I had the book recommended to me as well, which is what got me hooked. At my work, we have a small group of "A Song of Ice and Fire" followers. If you have questions about places/people, look to the back of the book, as there's a reference there. The series starts out with primarily people and political motives, but as you work through the 4 books that are finished, you get more and more fantastical elements (dragons, etc). Enjoy! I'm about to re-read it, so I'll probably be working through it as you are. Certainly let me know if you have any questions or thoughts. Also, there's a song of Ice and Fire group and a George R R Martin group. Just beware of spoilers...

Regarding your query should you read the Song of Ice and Fire series: Well, I took a look at your bookshelf... and the George R. R. Martin series is quite different from a lot of what you've read, so it depends on your openmindedness and level of interest. Personally, I've found them to be fantastic reads. They are quite complexly plotted (like the Lord of the Rings series), but unlike those books, it's not so much clearly Good characters vs. a clearly Evil force as it is interaction between characters that are neither good nor evil but various shades in between. Expect realistic and gritty characters instead of morally idealistic ones, and lots of intrigue and plot twists. Martin has written a couple of my favorite characters in literature, by the way.. noone is simplistic, and you NEVER know what will happen next! This series is fascinating, quite dark, and twisted, and in my ever so humble opinion, one of the best written in the fantasy genre. Give it the standard 150 pages, and see what you think! Happy reading :)

Sorry it took me so long to respond.I would recommend Norah Hess, Nora Roberts, or Julia Quinn. I could go on. That should get you started. I think it would be great to have a book store. I closed my craft store in December, I had a book exchange in there. I loved it.
