I just finished The Alienist by Caleb Carr. It was a great read!!!
My internet has been down for months...but hubby got it working again. I added a bunch of my newest reads to my shelf. I haven't had time to prowl your shelf again and see what's new but I will tomorrow. I have now read almost everything by David Baldacci and so far I have not found a bad book...a few bad narrations of his books but his writing is great!!
How come you didn't let me know Diane Mott Davidson had a new book out?
Been busy sewing up a storm this past month. Hubby and I decided to really go for it and start a home sewimg business. We ordered business cards and will be starting to photgraph our samples for a web site. I am trying to listen while we sew but The Gypsy Morph by TErry Brooks just isn't grabbing me like his other books have. Been a slow book month so far. Usually I read or listen to at least 10 books. I sewed a size 2, size 3 and a woman's xl nightgown so far this week alone. So what have you been doing this month?
Hi Charleen, Thank you for the friend add and your nice message. I've been here I guess a few months. I've only put in the reads that I've recently finished. I've been writing long fiction for about eight years. My next private detective novel, Troglodytes, is out this summer. My books, especially The Blue Cheer, are in libraries. Let me know which one you liked. Have a great week. Best, Ed
I forget...have you read any Joshua Spanogle books? He has 2 medical thrillers I just loved.right now I am finishing up The Night Caller by John Lutz and it is a bit spookier than I usually like. I don't like to read a lot of books about killer bad guys sneaking up on defensless young women who do not know they are being stalked for a while. I used to like them but now I have a daughter in her 20s and I get the urge to call her every other page to make sure she is ok.one of my sons sent me It by Stephen King and after a kid got sucked down the sewer I gave the book back and went and counted the sleeping children in my house.I like political thrillers best right now so David Baldacci and Joseph Finder have caught my eye a lot. My mp3 is full right now.I don't sew as much as I used to but I do still make basic dresses for me and jammies for my Munchkin granddaughter who just turned 2.
Eclectic for sure LOL! I can see people looking at my shelf and saying I am "liberal? no...conservative?...maybe a mormon adventist? maybe 25 years old? or 50?" The only thing you can see about my shelf for sure is I don't read romance. There has to be something else going on in the story besides romance or it does not hold my interest. I used to do a lot of cross stitch while I listened to audio books. Now I sew while I listen. My eyesite is too poor for most cross stitch anymore. I read mostly thriller suspense mysteries without graphic sex scenes. I also tend to prefer body parts that are found on the inside should stay on the inside. Graphic gore and I don't get along. I like a good thriller with some sarcastic humor and large print. I will look for that box of books I had waiting to find a good home and get back to you in a day or 2. I love to talk books and sewing.
Awesome picture! Did you make the quilt?
Glad to see you back "on the shelf"!
How do I add a book to the shelf. I can't figure it out. Help
Hi Charleen! Tell me about these Patricia Cornwell books. If you look on my shelf, maybe you could tell if I might like them...
Nope -- it was a library book. Sorry.
Okay, Girlfriend...I'll try to 'rate' them from now on!
