I am so glad you found one. I know it took a lot of perseverence on your part and a lot of anguish.
This is wonderful news. I am still trying for SSI and SSD. It has been more than tight. I have always worked even when married. Say a prayer I hear yes and soon.

How is it going? Have you sussed out it was the ants taking aphids up the stems and under the leaves? That is my bet anyway but of course, it could be leaf hoppers etc. anythign that loves to eat OUR PLANTS, LOL

Must remember the change in title remind me later on in a amonth or two if I have not remembered. Sometimes it takes ages for the library to buy new books if they have not already done so. I am still waiting for one Shelfarian book to come through from months and mon ths ago. You will notice the aphids, if indeed that is what it is, on the stems or underneaths the leaves, wipe them out and be vivgilant, if that is what is eating you plants though it does sound like that. Washing uo liquid spray under and on the stems should woke for those little critters.

Yes, I was talking about your cousin's book The Warded Man.
About ants, not they do not eat the plants but do take down leaves to uses as compost for their 'garden' in the nests but they DO 'farm' aphids which they take up a plants and that damamges the plants, saps the life out of it. So, in their defence as such, they are farmers rather than ravagers. It is their 'animals' that kill the plants if not attended to quickly. Other than that I can only suggest what I did before, water with washing up liquid or this peroxide thing.

Hmm, Charlain Harris and Terry Pratchet giving a review, can't be bad. Not reading much at the moment and it takes time to get to England. Remind me in a few months time and I will try to get it from the Library

Any luck, Meghan C? You must keep ahead of the game if it is snails or slugs, check twick a day in dry weather, m ore than that in wet as they like to come out , the rain makes it easier to glide. I just found one about to make mincemeat out of my newly planted beans and I had covered them in plastic up to about 3 feet up the tub, but the one plastic covering was falling open so it got in easily.

All I can suggest is to spray a light solution of water and washing up liquid and I believe if you look at Women Speak I think peroxide. If it is an insect. Do you have snails and slugs though?
They are past masters at eating all plants

This is the first time I hear of this author, the movie preview made me curious about the book. It looks like it does have alot of emotion involved. I will read the book and let you know what i personally think. Thank you for answering my question.

My sisters Keeper is coming out as a movie and I always tend to read a book before the movie comes out. The movie previews look good, it looks like an emotional movie. I was wondering if the book was emotional as well.

Oh, Meghan, just looked at the yellow raspberries that I 'heeled' in to a box as I did not have soil at the time. There were cane buds but small. Ooh this morning nthere are really coming on and need to be planted today.

Hi Meghan, well, the weather is something we have no control over right! So, we just have to make a secure environment for our little seeds and that means cover. Here spring has sort of sprung. Not 70s, nowhere near but then, we never have that sort of weather at this time of year anyway. so I would always assume that where you are, it may be fickle. So how much room do you have? That is the question. Can you plant seeds in trays, pots etc. and either cover the area with a plaxtic bag (just letting some air in every day) until the temps. are SET?
Last year I bought some Heliotrope plants from the Nursery. I potted them up into pots as they were just plug plants and thought it a mite chill as these are originally Madiiteranean (that isn't spelt corectly but too early in the day LOL) and found a plastic bag large enough to accommodate a trough I could stand the little pots in and have cover over the top so as not to actually 'touch' the tops of the plug plants. I stuck little canes inside to make it a proper little tent shape, pegged up the open end, and went into hospital suddenly. I was in there 6 days and I worried that they would die and my costs would be wasted. But no, they had grown even though the weather had n ot been kind, cold and rain. I lost only one plant out of the whole ten. So what I am saying is, some protection might be in order until you are certain of the temps. In the hot days you would have to have air and could open things up as they would sweat and die. Give it some thought.
