“A middle aged bachelor takes in a pair of pregnant, run-away girls and the story begins. The writing reminds me of Charles Frazier, who wrote "Cold Mountain." Slow, deliberate, taking time to weave layers into the language and story. Not a lot of action, but well drawn characters and sense of place.”
