My wife and I had a small library that has become ridiculously big for a house the size of ours. She likes all that supernatural vampire, werewolf stuff and I am into science fiction and have a good amount of religous writings as well.

Probably the best book I've read in the last 3 years has been The Thirteenth Tale by Dianne... more »

    Rich,

This is Ryan's mother. I apologize, but Ryan is not supposed to make friends on Shelfari with people he doesn't actually know (in the real world). Please remove him form your friend list.

    God bless...

Hi Rich- thanks for the compliments. You, too have an eclectic shelf. It is nice to see a pastor with an open mind. Are the Disciples of Christ a Pentacostal body? I grew up in a Church of God in Atlanta. "Ender's Game" is high on my Plans to Read list. I am also a big Steinbeck fan- i have 2 of his "The Grapes of Wrath" and "Travels with Charley" on my favorites list...I am also very fond of "Cannery Row", "Sweet Thursday", and "East of Eden". I haven't written much poetry lately, but I hope to get back into it soon. Keep in touch. Jason

Thanks! I actually visited Rodman AFB after the BRAC turnover. It was a freakin' ghost town! Still had an operational mini-mart and some minor amenities, but mostly it was HOLLOW! I spent most of my 2 days in Panama losing money in a local casino and standing pier watch with a wooden baton and a whistle. A WHISTLE! Can you believe that?

"Oh, here come the bad guys! Better blow my whistle at them and wave my baton about wildly!" They actually warned us not to pet the monkeys!

As for the most active reviews thing, if you go to the Explore tab at the top you'll see two options for most active lists, members and groups. Both of these are then broken into specific categories like reviews, books added, books discussed, etc. You were listed in the most active reviewers section. Sorry to come out of the blue like that.

OH WOW! I just remembered that I almost died on the Bridge of the Americas because my cabbie decided to swerve into oncoming traffic as we crested the peak of the arch, at about 120 KPM...needless to say, I was scared stiff!

So is a security specialist more like a Master at Arms or an Intelligence Specialist? (Navy rates/assignments, both of which I was assigned to at some point.)

Glad to have you as a friend!
