  5. Crusade

Chip M edited the summary of Crusade Friday, November 25, 2011.

    • An Orion flotilla is decimated by what appear to be human ships coming from a previously impossible warp point. In order to prevent the fourth Galactic War with the Orions, Humans take up the challenge to prevent further spread by the religiously fanatical race who call themselves Thebans. The Thebans have created a twisted religion based on the records of a Human starship form the past that landed on their home planet. In their religion, the devil are the Orions, and the Human race has become their followers.

The Terran Federation Navy is lead by a "russian" Admiral Antonov. (Russia being 1000 years in the past). He uses hard-choice tactics, and the superior manufacturing might and technology of the Humans to meet the Thebans threat. Despite their technical superiority, the battles are very expensive and bloody, as the Theban's take significant risks, and are not frightened by death, as it hastens their return to 'Holy Terra".

After shocking genocide of Human planets by the Thebans, the Humans are aided by two conscious-searching Theban military leaders, acting out of loyalty to the Theban race, but not the self-serving, and deceptive leaders known as the Synod and the Prophet.
