Reading is the funnest thing I do regularly. Books are like friends...some you can't wait to see the end of and others you want to spent time with again and again. I've only been a member of Shelfari for little over a year but this is the best site for getting ideas about which book to pick up. I've been introduced to some authors I would... more »

Thanks for the note! I am a part of several book clubs online and one in real life. That's where my African American fiction comes from. I usually stick with one genre until I feel like I've exhausted it and then move on to something else. One theme that sticks with intensity is international espionage and WWII novels. Robert Ludlum has to be one of my all time favorites. Ken Follett a close second along with Daniel Silva's Gabriel Allon series.

I am moved in. It has been a little bit of a transition. I had my dinner and her beau this evening. I love all the personal time with Little Roger. Working on finding employment. I have sent out about 50 resumes. Of course, I will only be looking in the warm states. LOL. Take care. Susan

How have you been? I have started the school year and it has been a pretty good year so far. I have not been able to read as much as I would like, but I am enjoying how much my students this year are reading.

I am glad you had fun at your reunion. I love my job because I get to instill the love of reading into my students. Plus, I get paid to read and make tests for the books.

I loved The Five People You Meet in Heaven. I enjoyed the authors perspective on heaven. All of Jodi Picoult's books are engrossing except for Songs from the Humpback Whale. That was one of her worst ones in my opinion. You should enjoy The Pact. All of the students at the high school where I am a librarian absolutely love it. Pope Joan does sound like an interesting book. Let me know after you have read it.

I am looking forward to reading Sail by James Patterson. James Patterson is a popular author with the students who come into the library.

I always walk by the book section when I go to Wal-mart and the book Water for Elephants always catches my eye, but I have never picked it up. It looks like I may have to buy it.
