The English majors group may not be pretentious, but many of the world's English majors are. If you think Mike is pretentious, you should hang out with some of the pipe-smoking bearded tweed-clad folks in a university English dept!

I think The Grandma Club sounds like a good name, now that I understand what you have in mind - just a group of women at least old enough to be a grandma, who could exchange thoughts about books. It sounds excellent!

Yes, but what would a Grandma club do? I never read books about how to Grandma... although I did read one good book on Raising Boys (since it is sooo different from raising beautiful adorable sugar and spice girls).

I think I will go look for the English majors. Are they pretentious?
