I tend to read in bursts. If I find a genre or a writer that I like, I will read all of it I can find. Being of limited resources I also get most of my books from the public... more »

    Michelle,

I see that you have my book, God of the Dead, on your shelf and you have read an impressive amount of post apocalyptic
fiction. I would like to send you a free book. Let me know if you would like one.

    Best regards,

LUV the do. You look different everytime I see you. Okay, so Taw is not skinnier than when I last saw him in January. He looked like he gain back his meatiness. No I don't have a penchant for the school-girl/samurai look, but I did have my hair in pigtails last night. OMG, fuji is amazing. it's snowing lightly outside as I sit here and type to you...gotta go, taxi here.

Hey, don't forget to go see Cassandra Clare! She's going to be in Torrence Borders--I wanna say March 28???--but I'm not sure. I just finished reading Looking for Alaska. OMG. Good book. An Abundance of Katherines good too--in a happy-ending sort of way. Thanks for the recommendation. See you in a few weeks!!!!!!!

Hello Michelle and thank you so much for the kind note! I'm a huge fan of Holly Black myself. In fact, you reminded me that I've neglected to add her work to my shelves. Something I will do right after I send this note! And, of course, all the others you mentioned are absolutely fantastic. Garth Nix I especially enjoy. In fact I just finished his "Shadow Tower" series a couple of months back.

Hmm. That is true. Most of the books you've mentioned are fantasy. Seems like you'll have to come out of the closet ;). Don't be ashamed! There's a fine crowd of folks who love fantasy! That said, sticking to what is good is an excellent rule. And though I love to write fantasy, I love to read all good books and stories I can get my hands on.

I do see you're a teacher! I have a lot of respect for you and others in your vocation. I visit about 40 schools each year. So I get to work with teachers and librarians pretty often. I love to read and present to students. But the best part is encouraging them to read. Makes my day even when I see just a few eyes light up.

LOL! That's right! You caught me! I'm an elf living among humans ;). But seriously, thank you for the kind words about the pic. Yours is quite lovely as well.

In any case, if you do read the book, I would absolutely love to hear what you think -- especially from someone who doesn't read fantasy ;) Thanks again Michelle and feel free to write any time.

I'm not a teacher yet, though I will be in another semester. My certification is for K-8 but most of my coursework has focused on the K-6. I'm also going to be student teaching in the 6th grade next semester. Why do you ask?
Thanks for taking a look at my review. Truth be told, my Reading Methods 4-8 class has us write 20 reviews of books as a requirement for the course.
