Have made a start on Skippy Dies and am enjoying it so far - thanks for the loans. I will try to get through as many as I can before the holidays are over!

Hi David, My new suspense novel LAKE CHARLES is set in the Smoky Mountains. Kindle now, paper (33% off for pre-sales orders) in June. Favorable review in Publishers Weekly. Sorry if this is a duplicate. Best, Ed Lynskey

I hope you do get that book written and out. Close as you got to publishing before, you've obviously got something working. I wish you the best on both your book and vacation. (Maybe the kids will give you something more to write about--in a good, way, that its!). Good luck!

Hello, David. You picked the right time to go to Europe, with the dollar beating up on the Euro (finally)! Hope you have a great time. Have you tried to take those unpublished novels to an agent? There's a source for finding ones that fit your material, called "Guide to Literary Agents" (Writer's Digest Books). Not only steers you in right direction for agent, but is filled with critical tips on art of submission, writing effective cover letters, book synopsis, etc. Library should have latest edition (2011 may be out by now). Best of luck with the writing, and I know you'll enjoy Europe with your boys. All the best,

I am doing some research on steampunk for a library display. Can you suggest any authors apart from Reeves, Westerfeld, Pullman (?). Have you read Boneshaker by Cherie Priest? I have ordered it along with The windup girl by Paolo Bacigalupi. Also came across Dieselpunk in my searching....

Impressive list of books there, DB.
I've got my whole Year 8 class hooked up to this now. Such a better way of sharing info/thoughts about books.

I think this title is where MC's two characters (Harry and Mickey) meet. That part just didn't click for me. Mickey is a strong character on his own. I'm usually not keen on legal dramas, but this one worked. It was a fast read. Smooth writing, as always. Overall, I enjoyed it.
