My love of books began when I was a child mostly because both of my parents were avid readers. My husband and I both grew up in Massachusetts but we now live just outside San Antonio, Texas. We have two beautiful daughters, a wonderful son-in-law and the cutest 3 year old grandson. My job at the local library is great but boy does it ever... more »

That's neat. My previous avatar was of Garfield reading "War and Peace." I have a cat named Pookie. Do you have a cat?

No, I haven't read that one. It is on the list. I just started Diana Gabaldon's new Claire and Jamie novel. But I might have to stop. I just got my share of Bluebonnet nominee's and I need to read them and crank out some Reader's Theater scripts for the reading program. Discipline, Discipline. Work before pleasure. That kind of thing.

Hey, I get to come and see you guys on Friday. There is and AALS [Alamo Area Library System] meeting in UC so I thought I stop by afterward to say Howdy.

The last cookbook 1001 Chocolate Treats has a recipe for Chocolate Fudge Pie that calls for a chocolate pastry crust. I thought it was the chocolate wafer but I was wrong this one is a baked crust just like a regular shell and I'm interested in trying. Just thought I'd ask.

BTW I just realized yesterday was my 30 day mile stone.

    I miss you guys/

No the only author from play tag group that I've read was Philip K. Dick. I have read and listened to the book about androids sleep ...
It was really odd. What was the "Looking for Alaska" about? I have heard the title but do not know anything about the story.

Thanks Ellen, I am enjoying Rum Punch but in my head comparing it with the film. It doesn't always run as straight as the film and there are differences but I think I would have liked the book even without seeing the film.
Hand problems right now not made better by knitting a scarf for winter and my back always gives me pain too. Never mind. Hope you are O.K.?

Hi there, how are you doing? I am reasonably well considering all my health problems which are boring. Am reading now #Rum Punch' by Elmore Leoard. Out of my normal read but saw the film 'Jasckie Brown' which was from this book and like to do the book/film - film/book thing. See what the differences are.

Something else I just thought of today was to try and create a Reference Reading Room. Where they have their magazines there is about 1 3/4 book shelves of old national geographics and with space be stretched I just might move the reference section into the reading area. Does that sound reasonable? As a library patron would you like to have a quiter area to study reference materials.
