Today, I can read half a dozen or so books each month and still want more! It allows me to escape, to learn, empower myself and keep my mind fresh while enjoying the many ways of the written word. I've...more »

Hi Tamra, thank you for your kind words. Yes, I took the photo. It's a few years old now. Lots more grey hair. I see you've read Assta's book. Her's was one of the most cherished African-American books I've ever read. She symbolizes so well what so many of us have experienced in this country. Her book should be considered a classic.

Well, again, thanks for stopping by, and please keep in touch.

Hi Tamra, welcome to Play Book Tag! I have been traveling for a couple of days so you may already know some of this information but I wanted to drop by and let you know about some of the activities going on with the group this month. First and foremost, every month we have a tag that is chosen by a randomly selected member from Shelfari's top 200 tags. The tag for July is fairy tales! Once you have read a book listed under the fairy tale tag (or even a book that you think fits the tag nicely...we're not too picky), post it under the discussion July tag: collective reads for our shelf. Books that are posted are then added to the group shelf and they also usually spur discussion!

We also have a brand new game: Tag It To The Max. This game is a little more complicated but you can find rules for it if you search our discussions for Rules for tag it to the max. Basically, you are assigned a tag by the administrator for one of the top 200 Shelfari tags and then you read one book for each consecutive tag. This game has been going on for a little over a week now but if you're interested it's not too late to join! This game will end August 31.

We also have a number of other get-to-know you games and a FAQ for new members...all of which you can find by searching our discussion threads.

I was browsing through your self and noticed that you have a lot of books I have never read before, do you have any suggestions? I have read most of the John Grisham books though and enjoyed each and every one of them! If you have any quesions about PBT please don't hesitate to ask me. :)

    See you on PBT!

    Happy reading,
    Nicole
