    Yes, I firmly believe that the roots of all the addictions; alcohol, drugs, self-multilation, eating disorders, sex, gambling; all are intertwined within the same foundation. Just a matter of what one uses to cure, or temporarily mask actually, their pain. My soul-mate (who unfortunately made the mistake of marrying someone else before she met me) is a recovering anorexic with self-multilation tendancies, so I try to learn all I can about it/them. I will check out this writer. And I'll also go through my Bradbury collection and see if I can come up with a rec if you're interested. You should also check out Ursulla K. LeGuin. She's another of my favorites if you are into that genre. Thanks a lot.

    Hiyah Clara. The book you have listed - "Cutting". I cant find anything on it. Is this on self-mutilation? (And I see you're big into Bradbury. He is one of the best I think. His books are written like poetry.)

    I just bought 3 new books from the goodwill along with 6 shirts and a mandoline. I also donated 2 bags of stuff. I went to the St Vincent De Paul Soup Kitchen yesterday morning to volunteer it felt really good. I was renamed by some incoherent homeless man to Double wumpa bump. I will catch you up later.     I was so grateful I had the professors that I had when I was in school. They were all native speakers (and wept when they spoke of the Fall of Saigon) and they pretty much gave us a free rein in terms of interpreting literature and poetry etc. There were times when they would just look at you and say, "Non Corinne", and that was pretty much that I wrote a paper about Sartre's La Nausee that when I first discussed it with my prof she was like, "alors kid, you better make this plus interressante" (sp) but she accepted my thesis and it really gave me a different perspective if Sartre. Speaking of which, I had the chance to attend school in England for awhile (the air force base school) and I would always tell my profs about how our English teachers would do the "don't go into the woods you'll get eaten!" deal with Existentialism but when I really sat down and read it... what, I really related. A woman I respected told me, "that is because you are a modern thinker." I was grateful that I was the generation that caught up to Sartre. I will go back and read Genie. Corinne

    Hey you! do you speak French? I have a four year degree in French Lang. and Culture and my French is horrible but my Rimbaud story is that I went back to school to get a quicky degree in Spanish cuz all the Latin Americans were coming to Miami with real Spanish and we were all mired in Cubanglish and I get to FIU and I take one French course to fulfill an obligation and my teacher reads us that poem by Rimbaud, you know the trou in the head and the rayons in the water and il dort? It was so beautiful I went over to the registrars office and changed my major to French. Never regretted it. I'll look up this book. Corinne
