"Paranoia" was a thrift store find--that was a really fun read. I chose "Choke" as an alternate to "Fight Club" because I wanted to read something by the author of "Fight Club", Chuck Palahniuk. I had seen the movie and didn't want to have any preconceived notions about Chuck Palahniuk's writing style. I will forewarn you: Chuck Palahniuk is one sick dude--and not "sick" as the kids use the words these days. His writing is really, really twisted.
A friend lent me "I Hate People". It is non-fiction and definitely soft science/business book but still a fun read.
Just getting around to updating my Shelfari. Didn't see this until today.Again, thanks for the read and review. :-)
I'm not seeing my book on your shelf.... wazzup with that?
Hello Giles, letting you know I dropped by.. Hoping all is well with you and yours.
Hi G! How are things. I'm currently reading THE THINGS THEY CARRIED with my junior English class - the year equivalent, though not the academic level equivalent - of Lower Sixth form. Just finished reading MIDDLE PASSAGE with them Must post reviews, I guess. How are you dding?
"Kebbie" = "KB" - my initials! You forgot?
I'm going to be here more now, G. And I'm looking at my shelves and seeing what all needs to be read and such. Starting with "light" fare...ACHERON, by Sherrilyn Kenyon today. it's in the area I currently write.Hope you're doing well, my friend!
Yes, its chilly and foggy with some very beautiful scenes in the sky early mornings and at dusk...Most trees except for the evergreens have become bare...Our backyard squirrel family is in a digging frenzy. Have a good sunday and Have a productive work week.:)
Letting you know I dropped by. :). Have a wonderful Thursday.
oh thanks Giles
the arranged marriage sounds like an interesting book
*giggles* No, soft blue bootie slippers with tassels.
It's gotten cold here , too! I'm currently sitting in the office in my black Harley Davidson sweatsuit top, black sweatpants and slippers. Tomorrow afternoon, it will be autumn!
Work's been going okay. Major bung occurred today, but surprisingly was not of his making...for a change. I'll deal with it, though!
! Work went better as the week wore on. Someone from the Network, of which our school is a part, has been sent in to "facilitate" communication between the administration, in thi case the principal, and the rest of us, including me. She got him to back off the first "disciplinary hearing" he had planned for last Thursday, and just talk to me. She's good...and I'm hoping my trust in her will not be misplaced.
I did...I'm sure this will be fun! I'm going to try and finish grad school this year, you know, that last pesky degree... so this reading will become very focused. Orals are my next big hurdle.
Thanks for the invitation, G! I'll have to look around, see what I can do to enliven my page.
LOL yeah I know what you mean so I have stopped adding now so I can get through what I have on there first :)I got abit distracted with the Stephanie Meyer Twilight Saga - I didn't expect that I would get obsessed with it, now I am behind on my other novels! hahahahaha
Hi Giles, I am recovering very slowly from this last surgery......I think 3 surgeries in 6 mos and 2 of those only 1 month apart has taken it's toll.....Have an awesome day.....
