I am an avid reader, especially of historical fiction, and almost always I have a book that I'm reading. I think books you've read, and especially those you recommend, tell a lot about yourself, so I LOVE this site! I have read too many books to even remember all of them, and the list would be MUCH too long for anyone to be interested in them.... more »

I suggested that you befriend my good friend Katie S, she said she would love to have you as a friend on shelfari and here is her email kebs314@yahoo.com (she told me to pass it along)

I just think the two of you would have good suggestions for each other.

yes, of course I will look at your list on here to see what I can borrow, but here we are past the holidays and I am busier than ever. So much for reading this year! I was thinking that my friend Katie S and you might really like sharing your shelfs. I will pass the word along to her as well.

Once we are past the holidays and I have a second to read again, I will have to top by to see what books you may have for me to borrow, if you don't mind. Also, I haven't really forgotten that you wanted me to get you the copy of some audio books for Ray, I just forget to do it. I think I can email something like that.

I know this is a bit long in coming, but thanks for the Brandon Sanderson recommendation. I'm reading "Elantris" and am so enthralled by it! It might be one of my new favorites! (I see you make a lot of suggestions! If you have anymore, don't be shy about dropping me a note!) :)

Hi Heather, and thank you for the Amelia Peabody recommendation. I'd heard of the series but haven't gotten around to checking it out yet (the old dilemma: so many books, so little time to read).

    Have a great weekend!

Thanks! I'm so glad you like it! I was so hooked on the Molly Murphy series, if you like those you will probably like the Gaslight Mystery series by Victoria Thompson. Kind of similar, the main character is a midwife that solves mysteries, it's set in New York in the late 1800s. I really liked those, in fact, maybe a bit more than the Molly Murphy series.
Do you have any good book suggestions for me? I'm in a slump and need to find some new authors.. :)

I definitely don't think skipping pages is necessary in Wicked, but then again it's my favorite novel. My opinion, therefore, is subjective. Just try it. I say this a lot: If you like it, you'll be all the richer. If you don't, nothing lost.

Hi, thank you very much! And yes, I am a very big fan of Gilmore Girls! The idea of watching Gilmore Girls with friends sounds to me like a big fun. Unfortunately I haven't opportunity to do something like this.

Thank you for your suggestions. I appreciate that you took the time to give them to me. I have started reading Elizabeth Peter's Amelia Peabody series. Unfortunatly I didn't start with the first book. I just read "Lion in the Valley". I've put all of her books that I could find on my wish list. I will look into the authors that you have recommended. Thank you again.

Wicked is a good book. It is definitely nothing like the traditional Wizard of Oz tales. I like it for the author's imagination and his idea of the old saying that there are always two sides to every story.

laughing is a good response, I liked it, but I also became irritated with some parts, but I think I had just been reading the twilight books when I read it and so it didn't have the effect that it should have had. glad that you liked it.
