Sam, could you suggest a good equivalent to Jennifer Crusie's lighthearted romantic comedy books that I could suggest for my 27-year-old boyfriend? We both lead pretty stressful lives with careers and school, and the mental break is always refreshing for me. He loves witty sports columnists, and I just know there are books out there with similar humor and realism that he will totally dig. Just gotta get a good book in his hands to get him hooked! :)
Hi Sam! Yes! I think you would enjoy The Host by Meyer. Although it is sci fi in premise, the story is really more about relationships and what it means to be 'human.' If you're interested, I wrote a review of it on my blog at http://theromanticlife.blogspot.com/2008/06/book-review-giveaway-host-by-stephenie.html My review is fairly spoiler free, but if you really don't want to know anything about the plot, you can just read the last three paragraphs of my review. Wanderer is the alien soul who has invaded the body of her human host Melanie. Think two souls occupying one body. It's a very emotional tale.
