I'm an over 40 wife and Mom of two who LOVES to read. After struggling to find the time to read when my son was small, I started a book club with some friends. We are a tight-knit group of six who still meet regularly to discuss our group picks and solo reads. I have a wide range of interests and am always looking for new favorites.

I admire your perseverance. i had a look at The Game of Thrones but its not my cup of tea I dont think. I hope you get some enjoyment from it and that it promotes some great discussion at your
    Book Club.

I will keep you in mind if I have any other books to recommend.

    Hello Deanne
I saw that you read and loved The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I have started reading a book
called Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum. It has a different naration style but the themes and story are similar. I am having trouble putting it down to do other things.
Its worth having a look at in the library or your local book shop.

This is pretty funky, but I think I like it. I'm definitely going to cruise peoples shelves, I think I have forgotten so much of what I have read over the years. But this is so fun, THANK YOU!

Actually, now that you mention it, that's how I read the passage - or - how they come from the local library. I just didn't know there were outlets where you could buy them, so I'm super excited about that. And of course - I don't mind sharing in the least. That's the best way to find the good ones - by word of mouth and passing things along!

You can't offend me! Tell me more about this ePub stuff. How does one get in on that?

I've read a ton of Phillipa Gregory - mostly the Tudor stuff, although I did just finish the Red Queen. Which one did you have in mind?

Hi Deanne! Yes - I think I am definitely rating books harder than I used to - I just seem to have had a run of short, poorly written things. I wish I had a great recommendation! My friend has recently been raving about "The Josephine Bonaparte Trilogy" - she seems to think I will love it. Perhaps that might interest you?

I got a "nook" for Christmas, but instead of buying books from Barnes and Noble, I have been trying to find things to check out from the county library (trying to cut down on my - ahem - "habit"!). Needless to say, the selection is not the greatest. I will let you know if I find anything else.

I keep flip-flopping about "The Passage". Did I love it, or really like it? I has certainly stuck with me - that's for sure. I'm a Utah girl, so l loved that part of the book. I wish that he had cut down the first 200 pages.

Let me know if you find anything else you love as well!
