Deanne G

Deanne G

I'm a 40ish wife and Mom of two who LOVES to read. After struggling to find the time to read when my son was small, I started a book club with some friends. We are a tight-knit group of six who still meet regularly to discuss our group picks and solo reads. I have a wide range of interests and am always looking for new favorites.

The site is great! There are 6 in our book club and we go out to dinner once a month to talk about the book and pick another one. Right now we are reading The Doomsday key. I havn't started it yet but i am looking forward to it. I just read The bodies left behind by Jefferey Deaver, one of my favorite authors. It was really good. I know I'll never catch up!!lol.

    The Ancient One says

You must learn to get in touch with the innermost essence of your being. This true essence is beyond the ego. It is fearless; it is free; it is immune to criticism; it does not fear challenge. It is beneath no one, superior to no one, and full of magic, mystery and enchantment.

Ahhh. I see the tables have turned! This note made me laugh out loud. I LOVE this site! I would never know about these books without you introducing me to it. Have you watched how "Gurnsey" is spreading among people's lists? I love it!

I thought I had read all of his books - that's why I was surprised to see this one. I LOVE his books, and own most of them. Sophie's World was my first. Don't bring any books. We won't be reading!!

I added Maya! How on earth did you uncover another book by Gaarder? This has to be one of my all-time favorite authors.

I actually purchased "Midget" to send to you one year (many years ago) for your bithday. I was attacked by a case of compassion, though, and decided that it was just to mean. So, I kept it and am just now getting around to reading it.

Thinking of adding "Wednesday Letters"... what do you think? Will it make me want to slit my wrists?

I thought it was very interesting. I am not sure it will make a good movie, though, which was the impetus for me reading it.
