Hi, Stephen King is interesting writer. Some of his books I love and he writes them in such easy to read manner but keeps you on the toes. Some books are dragging through begginging, middle and have excellent ending. Some books have excellent start and middle and bad ending. But all in all he has interesting imagination and that is what captivates many readers. To answer on your qestions:Stand - definitelly yeah!!! One of my favorites of Stephen K.Lisey's Story - no. Dragging through start, middle and excellent ending. The Mist - yes. I won't tell you anything but you have to read it and also watch a new movie based on it for comparison of endings.
Hello Hannah, I recommend reading Stephen Kings books in the order he wrote them if you are a new fan. By doing this you can see how his writing progresses and his style changes. He also writes under the name Richard Bachman (he tried this to stroke his own ego I think). If your going to read the gunslinger/dark tower series you must read it in order and the first book is the hardest to get through for sure. Enjoy diving into the world of Stephen King.
I agree that they are all worth reading. The stories are all different but Stephen King does have a formula he usually sticks to. I can usually tell in the first 5 pages if a person is going to live until the end of the book. Jerks almost always die. :)My favorite and first Stephen King book was The Stand. Stephen King is a big Red Sox fan so he's OK in my books.Enjoy.
The Dark Tower series by Stephen King are real good. You gotta read them in order, though. The first one is probably the most boring, but you gotta read it first cuz it sets the stage for the others.
Responding back, yes all 4 are worth reading. Night Shift, I haven't read in years and if I remember correctly is was a collection of short stories by Stephen King. Carrie, is a good underdog revenge novel. The Shining took me awhile to get into but once I did I was hooked. Salem's Lot is just a good vampire story.
I love Stephen King and enjoy all his books. Lisey's story is good although not his best work. It's still worth a read.
Salem's Lot is a good one for conventional horror. Or should I say, hleped make conventional horror.
I love Stephen King, and he definitely has some great books and some flops. I think The Stand is a classic. It's not a quick read, which makes it that much more enjoyable. You go on a journey with the characters for a while, and are truly sad when the book's over. He makes you feel like you're living with them as they re-create society after a plague, and participate in the epic battle of good vs evil. Very cool.
Yes!!!!Check out King`s IT. I loved the idea he presents...but check out the book Sacred Evil on my bookshelf too, it`s scarier if it`s for real.....
I wanted to say hello and thank you for allowing me to see your bookshelf.
Hi!
Hi HannahThank you! I'm certainly going to try something else written by Mrs Higgins Clark. I'm looking forward to finding anauthor who can take Agatha Christie's place but I was disapponted both by Elizabeth George and P.D. James.....
