I am a 34-year-old stay at home mother of two boys -- ages 3 years and 15 mos. Reading is something I've enjoyed to do since I was a little girl encouraged by a grandmother who was an avid reader. I try to read a variety of genres to expand my horizons, but I tend to navigate towards historical literature, classics, chic lit, memoirs, modern fiction, books on writing and books that help me grow as an individual and as a mother. I often hear other mothers say they don't have time to read anymore since becoming a mom. That would be tragic for me and my life would feel very empty if I didn't read every day. I love to discuss books and am excited to be a part of this community.

I'm happiest surrounded by books and will sometimes take time for myself by browsing books at Borders or Barnes and Noble, or even Amazon if I can't leave the house. Buying books is definitely one of my guilty pleasures.

I'm inspired by first-time authors who have achieved success with their stories. I would someday love to be one of those people!! It's hard work and I admire those people who make writing a part of their everyday lives and then share their thoughts, ideas and creativity with the rest of us. « less
