    Ronnie, I believe that ALL religious fundamentalism is a threat to not only "Western Civilization," but world stability in general, and I pointedly include Christian fundamentalism in that. In America, I would characterize that as a dangerous myopia on our part, or as Matthew 7:3 puts it, "And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" I was also pretty specific in my criticisms of his book, and if all you got out of that was that I don't believe Islamic fundamentalism is a threat to America (which I never even hinted at), you didn't read it very carefully or with much comprehension. I was also surprised to see I was the ONLY Shelfari review on the book. When you said I was the only negative review you read, I was expecting to see several glowing reviews up there. Mine is the only one. Maybe you should add your own to balance out my review. I look forward to reading your thoughts on the book.

    Have you read The Night Inspector by Frederick Busch? It is fiction, however, its setting is after the civil war and it tells the story of a civil war sniper. It is a good book. Would you recommend Shooter?
