You seem to be attracted too to philosophy. I share with you the passion for it. Descartes too is good.

Why don't you sign up for my group, the "Ron Paul Reading List" at http://www.shelfari.com/groups/24536/about

I'm trying to point out that all these cool ideas of liberty, limited government, property rights, equality before the law, etc. all had their origins in either the Bible, the Catholic Church, or the Scholastics of Salamanca.

After all, we came up with the notions of Natural Rights, the Principle of Subsidiarity, the relationship between the City of God & City of Man and about a hundred other things which if paid attention to from the start, the world wouldn't be in such a mess today.

Have you checked out my shelf yet? I haven't tagged everything yet, but check under religion. That's most of my stuff. Are you looking for anything in particular? If so, I can recommend.

Hello Brian, Scott Hahn is a good Catholic Author with a little humor in his writings... His books are packed quotes from early Christian Writings, Scripture and official Catholic documents... He is a good source for Catholic understandings...

The first of Scott's I would recommend would be "The Lamb's Supper". It explains the Mass as it should actually be taught instead of a elemtary level understandins... it makes you want to go to Mass and experience the community prayer and is the point on Earth where Heaven and Earth truly meet...

    Peace... Talk Later, Michael

Have you read any books by Thomas E. Woods Jr.?

I've read and really like "How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization", ISBN: 978-0895260383; "The Church Confronts Modernity: Catholic Intellectuals and the Progressive Era", ISBN: 978-0231131865; and "The Church and the Market: A Catholic Defense of the Free Economy", ISBN: 978-0739110362.

I hope to be able to read "Sacred Then and Sacred Now: The Return of the Old Latin Mass", ISBN: 978-0979354021 and his earlier co-authored work "The Great Façade: Vatican II and the Regime of Novelty in the Roman Catholic Church", ISBN: 978-1890740108.
