Golden Apples

----------------------------------------------------------------------Different picture, same me!
I've changed from daffodils to an actual golden apple to Athena and her golden apple (she deserved it!!!)

I'm a teen, I love to read, but I'm a slow reader and it's totally frustrating. I like to read alot of different things. Cheers...more »

Since you're a teen, I'm not sure how you would feel about "Water For Elephants." How did you like it?

I really don't know what the painting is, honest!
Here are the web sites, in order that I went to, looking for info on the painting:

I am not too good when it comes to searches, so maybe you can figure it out!

Let me know what you find...

Oh, I like your avatar...I collect unicorn statues, pictures, carvings, almost anything!
My avatar is one I chose from the internet Google site. I believe it is a painting, but have no info on it. Usually I have a stylized letter "K" as my avatar, and a new quote on a weekly basis. This week's quote gave me the idea to try to match my avatar with the quote, so i did a search and found this pic!
Browsed your shelf and noticed your profile says you loved Water for Eleahnts. I loved it, too. I just found a book (I haven't read it yet) called Hannah's Dream by Diane Hammond, anpther book about an elephant trainer and circus life. I have also read almost all of the Nancy Drew books. You keep on reading, no matter how long it takes, no matter what kind of books. No one should judge you, since so many young people these days pay more attention to TV, computer and gaming. Plese feel free to browse my shelves and ask any questions...

i'm totally with you about the reading thing. i'm a teen too, 7th grade, and not always very good about picking my books. i tried to help with your austenland and I'd tell you i love you but then I'd have to kill you problems, but the computer wouldn't let me. they are two of my alltime favorite books. please write back.

I responded to your request about "Lolita" but it didn't let me comment on why I said "No". I really liked it but it doesn't look like your cup of tea based on your favorites shelf.

You were asking about the Princess Academy. I wasn't sure about it when I picked it up at the library, but I really enjoyed it. It is about a group of girls who are sent to an academy to learn and possibly become the princess. It shows the strength of the girls and was a quick read. Enjoy!

Sorry I cannot say, as I have never read "the bean trees". I liked "pigs in heaven" and others have recommended all of Kingsolver's books.

Hi! You asked me if you should read Gosammer. Well for some people it is difficult to understand. I had to read certain paragraphs more then twice. ( probably because I read fast ) But since you are a slow reader I think you can figure out the meaning as you go along. So I recommend that you read it.

Hi - you asked about "A Farewell to Arms"... If you hated "Old Man and the Sea," chances are you won't enjoy this one either, unfortunately! It is much more involved and may be difficult for a slow reader. Do you have other choices for a school book?

Garden Spells is a good book, but think you would enjoy it more if you read it several years from now. Know I am hopelessly old-fashioned, but it is not one that I would have recommended to my girls in their teens.

Hi! You asked about Garden Spells and Portrait of an Unknown Woman...

If you enjoy a book with well over 400 pages and if you like learning about different time periods/countries you will like Portrait. I found it totally enjoyable to read, but then again, I love history and enjoy learning about things I know nothing about.

Garden Spells is a fast read with only a few more than 200 pages...I read it in two days, but I am a fast reader and have a lot of time to spend reading. It is a magical little story...I really liked the way the story was crafted and how it came together in the end.

Two more books that are awesome are Mercy of Thin Air which is about a woman who dies and is a ghost caught between worlds, it is very very very good! AND The Thirteenth Tale which is a wonderfully crafted story about a young lady who is writing a biography of a very famous author in England...and she ends up telling her this fantastic story that you just can't believe how it turns out! It is my favorite book so far, ever!

One thing you can do is go on Amazon.com and read reviews of the books there, it might help you understand a bit more about the books!
