Reading is one of the greatest joys of my life! Sharing ideas through books is what connects me most with my family and friends. I'm proud to say that my children are both avid readers and I hope that the many hours I spent reading to them promoted their love of reading.

Do you still want to read The Last Lecture? If so, I can bring it to Dallas and you can take it home with you. Let me know.

Well, different strokes for different cowpokes. Gus McCrae said that, didn't he? Anyway, I loved the BBC series years ago of Brideshead Revisited and read the book way back. I have always been fascinated with British aristocracy. Very, very good book. Back to movie previes, The Duchess looked wonderful to me. It is about the Duchess of Devonshire and stars the beautiful Keira Knightley. Looks grand. And also that Nicole Kidman/Hugh Jackman movie Australia looked stunning. Some good period pieces coming up. I love period pieces!

Why don't you try "Christine Falls" by Benjamin Black. It reminded me a little of P.D. James, although it was a little grittier.

I've read a couple . . . ridiculous. Definitely mind numbing and silly!

So here's my next great idea! I am going to read something off of everyone's shelf . . . and you get to choose! Pick something that isn't normal for me to read, and something you really love, and ya'll get to choose my summer reading list! Sound fun?

Do you still have some of the books on your list that are on my "to read" list, like Joy Luck Club or Club Dumas? If you do, can I borrow them? I need summer books!

Well, I read it because they are teaching it at a high school and I was asked what I thought. I don't think it's the best choice of high school reading material, but just as a book - I thought it was really interesting. It reminded me of the Dress Lodger, which I read many years ago!
