    I'm so glad that I brightened your day!

    Taking the laptop to the TV room is Exactly what I do. I sit there and keep him company and respond when comments on the program. I even "watch" the program with half my mind, although sometimes it's pretty obvious that I did only use half my mind. I can't read a book at the same time the TV is on though so I might as well "talk" about them.

    Tags are great fun but when your list gets big, it can get difficult to go back - not difficult as much as time consuming. That's a great thing to do though, on the laptop in the TV room!

    As for The Power of One, no I have to confess that I haven't read it yet. However, the funniest thing happened at the library today. I noticed that the "staff picks" (recommendations) shelf was practically stripped so I went off to find some books to put on there. I put my hand out to a shelf and there was "The Power of One" so I put it on the shelf! I'll try to notice if it gets checked out quick and I'll let you know. People love looking at what someone else recommends when they come in the library. If we put out a cart of books for returning to the shelf, they often choose from there rather than browse. Well - isn't that what this whole site is based on?? :-)

    Hi Diana, long time no see. How have you been? Has the ranch been keeping you busy? I remember having a very large garden when I lived in Massachusetts and, at this time of year, I was looking forward to a good freeze to take out all those over-producing plants that had me prisoner to canning and freezing. Is that what you've been doing?

    You and I are up to 176 books in common! I've been spending Shelfari time on dealing with tags and I'm quite pleased with what I've been able to do with them. I've also been fooling around with putting my TBR shelf in some kind of order. I like to read my series books in order so that was one reason for doing that. I also wanted to break them up with other books in between and still keep the series in order. It's been time consuming but I play with it at night while the TV is on and I'm only paying half attention to it.

    I enjoy hearing about people with pets. To me, pets are best friends. There are to many animals in the world that aren't loved. By having pets it makes me feel like I'm helping the world. How about you???????????

    Hi! i love mystery books too! Do you have any pets? I have the cats on the picture, and a dog. Her name is Cleo. She's a flat-coated retriever, which looks kind of like a black irish setter. I love the boston terrier on pam's picture! They're SO cute!

    Josie is a little over a year old, and despite the peaceful looking puppy in the picture, she is actually pretty wild. One of our neighbor's breeds his male and informed us that there is one left out of the litter...it's very tempting!

    It's so nice to "see" you again! I hope you and your family are well. I think of you guys every year when I make your dear husband's cranberry scones for Thanksgiving morning. I misplaced the recipe and skipped this year and haven't felt quite right since...might have to ask you to resend it!

    Hi Diana,

    Looks like we have similar tastes in fiction. I enjoyed Georgette Heyer's books and have read quite a lot of "new" authors who write in the "regency romance" she has started. I think GH is more varied and creative with her plots.

    I love all the Griffin and Sabine books. Just finished reading THE SHACK by William P. Young. I am still now sure exactly how I feel about it. Went to book signings/readings by Greg Mortenson, THREE CUPS of TEA and Francis Richey, THE WARRIOR. Both are very poignant books and it was interesting to hear the authors talk about why they wrote them. For book club, I am reading NINETEEN MINUTES by Jodi Picoult....gripping story which I find most of her books to be. TENTH CIRCLE by her was also...easy read and her books make for a good discussion. It was interesting to see that several of the books you have on your shelf are ones that I have read and that we have similar ratings on several of them. You have been busy getting all your books listed. WHEW! Read on!!

    Diana, I'd suggest "Mastering Virtual Teams" by Duarte and Snyder for serious help on understanding teams in the virtual context. I have others including the one you questioned. On a personal note, I used to live in San Antonio and the Hill country to the NW is my favorite area. I am a full-time church denominational administrator and contract graduate studies professor of leadership at Andrews University in Michigan.

    Well, welcome to Shelfari! Who introduced your to the site? How did you find me? You can count me among your "friends" now. It can be a bit addictive. I squeeze time out on my computer while the TV is on. I love to read in bed! And I love it when I get to be with my grandsons; ages 5 & 7. I am the official bedtime reader when we are together. They live in CO an we are in FL so it only happens once or twice a year. :-( But we have quality time if not quantity time.

    I know of Thomas Perry but don't think I ever got around to putting him on my list. I'll check it out. As for the Jack Reacher novels, I definitely want to put that on my list. Which do you recommend I start with? I usually start with the first in a series, is that what you recommend? I've also seen lots about Crais so I'll look at this too. Thanks for the suggestions.
