No way, that is cognizant. Who was the elf? Your mom, or you? Either way, wait til the first few pages. I was like "this is how a novel is supposed to be written." Very fine. I'm reading Brighton Rock, which makes me remember the more vigorous ideas I've had. It's too bad they make everyone read 'The Quiet American.' His short stories are tough as well. The man was a stud. Tell me what you think sometime. I'd be interested to know.

Mase, happy new year, I see you are about to read The Power and the Glory. I have not read a novel like this in quite some time. Beautiful.

Mason, I just finished a wonderful story that takes place in India, called The Space Between Us. The author, Thrity Umrigar, grew up in Bombay but now teaches at Case Western Reserve U in Cleve. She interviewed John and I when she worked as a journalist to do a story on artists living off the land. She is a wonderful, descriptive writer. I think you would really like this book. Deb ps, I loved Franny and Zooey, read it about 100 yrs. ago.

Well thanks MM for the birthday wish. Don't see that movie, the long distance runner one. It's fairly boring. I thought I fell asleep because I was tired, but in actuality it was the slow development of the movie.

Here is a website I invented (when I was drunk).

    Mase, movie for you:

Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner

It's sort of old, and I have to admit I fell asleep, but I had put in a good workout and surfed some very fine waves. If I get some time I will finish it, but it reminded me of you.

I tried to look on their website but the government must have shut them down. Republicans hate San Francisco.

If you need a contact let me know. Are you and Aron out in Indy now? You mention getting back into running. What did you mean? Still Coaching? Geo

Outside of so many conversations? Just what kind of people are you consorting with these days? I actually wiped my butt with the last page of the last Harry Potter book. Now it really has a good ending.

They won't let me curse in this place and it screwed up my last message. I'll wait to see if it posts. Next thing you know they'll be cutting off my whiskey. Davinci Code? Are you serious? God help me if you put some Harry Potter books on your shelf. I might lose my only friend...

Try Bukowski. He's very raw, I'm not sure if he'll offend you, but he's very honest. Either Post Office or South of No North.

deadeye dick is good. Cat's Cradle is far and away the best, I think. Slaughterhouse Five and Timequake come next. And the short stories, brilliant short stories. Yes, I put all of those on instantly and all of a sudden. I don't know: there's something beyond pleasing about seeing all those good books lined up by author and all in a row. I know it's virtual, but I get a kick out of it anyway. What a place, what a place, perhaps I was destined to be a virtual librarian. I wonder what the pay scale is...

I do try to read a few pages a day but with school it's not easy. I'm always ready for new knowledge and information. I was actually talking to a UF alum about you. She said I have to get you to come by and run with us. Lord knows I've tried in vain. Anyway, my days are numbered here in Fl unless drastic changes occur. In running, I'm getting there slowly but surely.

I'll take some time this week and see what this site has to offer. I feel honored to be invited by you. I'd like to know what "Breakfast and Tiffany's" is all about.
