Thanks for the head's up. I haven't read my newsletter yet so I did not know about Tellharlequin.com. And, also thanks for spreading the word. Many more books need to be added to the count to reach the goal.

Hi Nightengale, making new friends who like the same books I do is kind of like walking into a candy store and seeing all your favorites. :)

Harlequin has been putting out some great books lately. I really like the direction they are going with their Historical line. Possessed by the Highlander by Terri Brisbin looks great. I haven't started it yet but the cover keeps tempting me from the top of my TBR pile. I just finished reading The Dangerous Mr. Ryder by Louise Allen which is the first book in her new series. I think her upcoming books will be excellent. As for paranormals, for right now, I read Silouhette Nocturnes. I haven't added many to my shelves yet but I hope to get them on there soon.

However, if you like eBooks, Harlequin will be launching a new line in November called Historical Undone. It is a short more sensual historical eBook which they are accepting submissions for now. In the writing guidelines they mention they are accepting submissions with time travel and paranormal elements so I can't wait to read what they come out with.

The 100,000 book challenge is an excellent cause. Talk to your friends about joining. I even got my mom to help out. I'd have to find it but they are taking snail-mailed entries to help the book count raise. My mom will play games online but other than that, the internet frightens her. She is worried she will do something to hurt the computer. I try to tell her that they aren't as fragile as they used to be but no good. "shrugs"

That is fantastic! Now you are all set for the Fall Challenge for the vampire book or for the series books. I am thinking that I might be doing 3 or 4 of them for my Fall Challenge. I am also going to try to fit in the Highlander series by Karen Marie Moning somehow.

I'll have to check out Sandra Hill. What types of stuff does she write? Are you reading something by her now?

I just finished Tribute by Nora Roberts. It was good-a little slow but overall good. It was a murder mystery about a girl who was a childhood star whose grandmother committed suicide before she was born. The grandmother was a star and so is her mother. She buys her grandmother's VA farm from her mother and decides to rehab it and solve the mystery of why her grandmother would have committed suicide. She finds some letters in the attic, has someone attack her truck, house etc and falls in love with-yep the neighbor. It was predictable in some ways but still very classic Nora Roberts.

Work is still there-yuck! I am hoping for a couple of weeks off at the beginning of September. We should be slower then. I am probably jinxing myself by saying that. Plus, when one job slows down the other gets busy. I am working on some prospects to get down to one job. Enough about me! How is your summer going? I love your countdown to school on your blog! I laughed when I saw it. Your blog is really great. You have a good mix going on. Sometimes I find on blogs that they are overwhelming with too much information. Yours is perfect! I have sent the link to some of my friends and they all like it too!

Are you done with the summer reading challenge? I am in the home stretch. I am changing some of my picks to accomodate some of the books I read after I did my original picks. I should be able to finish easily by the end of the month. Can't wait to start the fall challenge!

Have a great day! Talk to you later.

Hey, girlie, How goes it? Guess What? I found all the Argeneau series from PBS! I'm waiting for Single White Vampire to come in the mail. I got Tall Dark and Hungry the other day. Woo Hoo!! (doing the happy dance!!) I've discovered an addiction to Sandra Hill. I'm waiting for the next Cajun series book too. (I've read 1 and have 3 &4, 2 is come to me from where else? PBS) They are so much fun. Yay! What are you reading?
And... hmm, mmm.... how's that work thing going?! ;P

I am about 50 pages into Tribute so far. I have been reading some other meaningless stuff as well. So far it seems like it might be a slow read but good I'll let you know.
I didn't get a chance to pick my books for my Fall Challenge yet because I am still mulling over the list. There is just too much to choose from! :-)
Having a series in the Challenge is a good idea. I know that once I get into a series I generally want to stick with it. Plus, if it fits and it's in your TBR pile why not? I know that I am probably going to be doing the same thing.

    Talk to you later!

I'm really enjoying Paperbackswap. I haven't got Tribute yet. I've only seen it in hardback. I'll probably get it when it's in paperback.
For the Fall reading challenge, I have many of the same series in it, but that's what I have in my tbr pile. It may not be as diverse as others, but my dh will be happy that I don't have to buy more books. I was also looking forward to these series anyway. The problem is that I have to wait to read them. Ugh.

    Have a great weekend!!

Hey, hey stranger! Yea, you really have to break this addiction you have to work. I'm sure there is a 12 step somewhere for that. :) I have Love Bites, Single White Vampire, and Tall Dark and Hungry on wish list on Paperback swap. Yesterday someone posted Love Bites. Woo Hoo.! It will be mailed to me in the next day or so. I found a library with the other two. It's in another city, but hey I'll work it out.

I'm almost done with my summer challenge. Some of the books I read were such fast reads, that helps. I've never read Sherrilyn Kenyon.

My blog is www.just your average carpoolqueen.blogspot.com
It wasn't that hard to create it. I couldn't decide between the templates they had available, so I spent the better part of a saturday "playing" with it. Drove the kids crazy, cuz they wanted to play on the computer too. (but I was there first, no matter what they say...)

I haven't found Love Bites yet. Well, I found it on Amazon, but I don't want to spend that plus shipping. It's not on Paperbackswap yet. My library and the one in the nearby city doesn't seem to have it either. So, I'm still looking.
I wonder if my dh would try a pair of Spiderman pj's? I doubt it.
My challenges are going good, I'm at 53 or so, on the 50 book challenge, and I've read about 10 or so of the 15 for the ROR challenge. I started a blog. (As did a bunch of the ROR challengers.) I hope to do more book reviews on it.
Let me know how Sherrilyn Kenyon is for you.
    how are your challenges going?
