I first discovered the wonderful escape of reading as a teenager. The love of reading has continued. I teach 4th grade at a private school. In my spare time, besides reading, I enjoy scrapbooking, and cooking.

Lady of Milkweed Manor sounds good. I like the cover too. Oooh, there are so many books I would like to read. I'm in love with my new Mark Twain bio...just now. But reality calls...I've got clothes in the dryer that need me.

Just wondering...what books do you recommend for your fourth graders? Children's books are wonderful! My favorite author is Beverly Cleary....and 'Mole Music' one of my fav.finds in children's books.

Hi Tonya! I discovered reading in about the 4th grade. We had a teacher who read to us right after recess....it was so hot in that classroom then...but somewhere within the sound of her voice, the story became real. Loved it and still do. I see you are a Lori Wick fan....my favorite of her's is 'Sophie's Heart'. I haven't read all of hers. Right now....Lynn Austin and Catherine Musser's 'Searching for Eternity' have made the most impact on me. So...favorites they are. Have a nice day!

    Hi Tonya!
I have lots of friends of Shelfari, but you are the first from Valdosta! I love this site and spend as much time finding new things to read as I do reading. Do you teach at Valwood? I work at ResCare HomeCare, and travel most every week. Lots of reading in hotels and on airplanes.
