“This has all the hallmarks of an enjoyable read from Ms. Rice- light, flirty, sexy with her effortless writing. Nate and Tess has serious chemistry resulting in a one night tryst and an unexpected pregnancy. Tess informed Nate but rebuffed Nate's help in supporting the baby. Eventually she accepted Nate's offer of a rent-free cottage with a friends with benefits relationship until she realized that she wanted more. I enjoyed the story despite it being all fluff. I liked Tess even though I thought she wasn't being smart about rejecting Nate's help with the baby. ”

“This is a 4.5 star book for me. Very heart-warming holiday romance involving two single parents and five kids and their adjustments to form a family. Helen and Nat's ex-spouses died leaving five children into their care. To keep them Helen and Nat agreed on a marriage of convenience. They had in-laws contesting custody, grieving kids under 11, Helen's demanding army career and Nat who is blind. Plus a lot of meddling family and a 98 yr old nanny in the mix. The author did a good job writing in everything which on paper look very confusing. But because there were too many characters there were plot holes at the end. Nat and Helen are both wonderful characters- I really liked that they were attracted to each other long before they had to marry.”

“This is a 3.5 star book for me. I like the story and the characters but I wanted something longer than this novella. This had a widow starting a long-distance romance with a younger man. Cora really liked Alex but she is worried because he is younger than her, her daughter wasn't too keen on it and because Alex has a 4 yr old daughter that he needs to stay close to. All valid concerns that were fully or partially resolved in a pretty realistic ending.”

“This is wonderfully crafted romance by Ms. Cross. It starts out with Tray, a client, meeting Ruth, the interior decorator to his home, meeting and falling for each other. Ruth and Tray didn't know what hit them but they knew that they were each other's soul mate. However Tray is engaged to marry another and is too honorable to have an affair with Ruth. The story becomes more complicated with Tray introducing Elliot, an architect, who is also attracted to Ruth. For a while I was thinking that this is a love triangle two times over. But the story was really intriguing and didn't give away the resolution until the end. This is a 4.5 star book for me. I hope to read more of Ms. Cross' back list.”
