I love books with humor and am crazy about Janet Evanovich books. My other love is children's literature. I am in Arkansas and am back in college after raising my family. I am pursuing an elementary education degree and will be a junior this fall. I have three grown children and two grandchildren. I have been associated with my local theatre...more »

She's very similar to Evanovich. I bought a charlotte Hughes book, called "Hot shots" she co wrote the full series with janet. Seems very much the same as the SP books... a cop heroin who has foot in mouth disease!!! lol

I also bought a book by Mike Gayle called "turning thirty..." its meant to be about breakups from the guys point of view in a comic way....
I love humourous books!!!!! cant read those LONNNNNNNNNNNGGG novelly types!

Hi Dawn! I can't believe how much we have in common. I have to admit that I read Jane Austen many years ago, but I agree with your daughter that if you let yourself fall into the fantasy of that time period, you will really enjoy them. But, then again I got hooked on historical novels when I was a teenager, GONE WITH THE WIND, ANNA KARENINA...and so many others.

I really love Amy Tan, she does base a lot of writing on tales that come from her own family...but I really got into them and find them really easy to read. It's funny I never read The Joy Luck Club, I saw the movie then when my daughter was little she loved the PBS cartoon based on Amy Tan's children's book on her Siamese cat...then I started reading her other books and fell in love.

My LLL group is really doing well. Thanks to my two great, younger and more energetic co-Leaders. They are so supportive and I just love the way they have
grown in their Leadership skills, truly awesome to see. I don't know what I would do without them. I have been truly blessed.

Thank you so much for your note! I hope you are proud of yourself. I'm sure your children are! I sent my book to Tate Publishing out of OK. I paid an author participation fee -- Tate is not a vanity press. Check them out on-line tatepublishing.com

Your bookshelf is a real "hoot" == it shows me a lot about your personality!

    God Bless

Hi Dawn! It sounds like you are already pretty busy with other stuff. Not sure if taking the upcoming exam will lead to a career, but am just trying to make some money pursuing "my bliss" as they say. Thanks for the luck! I will need it, as my elderly Mom has had to come live with us and I think she is suffering from Alzheimer's or some other form of dementia. Trying to learn about Alzheimer's now, as well as studying for the Lactation Consultant Exam. Yikes! But, that's life.

I remember all this because my grandmother had to live like that. I also see you are a fan of Fannie Flag. She is great!! I love to read too.
