40, married 20 years, 3 kids, 10 years in marine corps, Bachelors in Information technology, 10 years as Network Administrator/engineer, Security Officer at night now so I can spend more time with my family, expecially my autistic son.
First sci-fi story I read was at 8 years old "the long rain" by Ray Bradury, never looked back, avid reader ever since.
Got into fantasy at 8 years old also, playing DND, but started reading it with Tolkien, and never looked back.
With family and such, been sparingly thru the years, but a couple back got back on the horse with DUNE and rammed forward. I am especially interested in Military Sci-fi and have long to read list and collection I have aquired.
When troubled refer to this from Dune:
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain
Be well
