I used to rent books from Hastings but the local library has added audio books recently. You download the library software for free and then 'check out" titles to load on to your computer. They come off your computer in 2 weeks but if you transfer them to an Ipod or other Mp3 player...you have them for as long as you need. There are days Im not ready to stop listening but, its nice to look forward to the drive instead of dreading it! Some of the narrators are fantastic...and Im a sucker for a accent. Guernsey was read by English and American and The Help had several different narrators as well. I suppose its like any other art form. When they are good they add so much to the story but when they are bad...UUGHHH! You should try it and let me know what you think. I make it thru a book a week give or take. Id never have time to read that much. I love it!

I just finished Guernsey Literary...and The Help and loved both of them! Still struggling thru Edgar Sawtelle. Just started 1000 Splendid Suns and I am loving that too. Ill like it even better than the Kite Runner I think. I listened to The Book Thief on audio and it was great too. If you ever feel the need to revisit The Help, try to get your hands on the audio version. They had different narrators for each character and it was sooo good. I was sad when I finished it!
