    Hey,
I finished The Magicians last month, and was torn between starting Magician King or some Brandon Sanderson. Sanderson won out because Magicians was too much like real life, and I want to escape a little bit. I will pick it up when I am at the library and want to grab a sure hit.

Howdy! Found you via the Favorite Fantasy group- thought I'd give your shelf a browse. I see you've read The Obsidian Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory, as well as several others by her... How do those compare? It's hard to tell from the series written by them both how her writing style is!

I really liked Magic Bites. I love to try out new authors ... especially debut authors and was heartened by her book. You're welcome to look through my shelves some more. I've read most of them. If they are fairly recent, anything with a rating will have been read. I can't guarantee a thing with the older works. I would guess more than 95% on the list are read now. You can look at the bottom of the page on my shelves and see what categories I've put the books in ...

My three year old is very precocious, sensitive, and full of life. She absolutely loves to dress up, and loves to be creative. We painted pumpkins tonight and I was taking the time to teach her colors like tan, cyan, and periwinkle. She's such a sponge. My newborn is now 6 weeks, and she's so much calmer than her sister was at that age. We've had a few bumps in the road health-wise, but she's now doing great and getting used to a "normal" routine. My wife is about to head back to work part-time, and shes excited and scared all in one, but has bounced back really quickly. Things lately have been hectic since my dad has been in the hospital (in and out of the ICU) for about 3 weeks, and he's a little over an hour from us. So unfortunately, my reading has taken the brunt of it and haven't been enjoying much of it lately. But thank you for the kind words and I hope your family is doing well. Keep in touch!

Excellent! I've added "Where's My Cow" to my wish list and will pick that up at the library next time I am there. This is the first Moore book I've read, but had seen his books before and was intrigued when I read the back cover of "Practical Demon Keeping" I'm almost through the first 100 pages, and I have to admit, it's very good. I'd heard that characters reappear in his books later down the road, and I'm definitely going to pick up some other books of his at some point. I'd read that Pratchett has Alzheimer's, and it's very disappointing and sad - my Grandmother has it, so I'm very sympathetic. Thanks for the note Jane!

Thanks Jane! I just picked up Crystal City and am about 100 pages in so far. Not exactly what I expected in this book, but then again, he's suprised me every time. So far so good. I haven't gotten a chance yet to take a look at your bookshelf (my wife just delivered a baby girl this morning) but I'll hopefully have time here soon. Take care, and thanks for the friend request!!!

The Deathstalker novels are space opera, energy weapons mixed with swords, kind of like Star Wars only with a sense of humor. He sometimes gets a little annoying by using the same phrases too much. The Nightside novels are about a darker side of London with a PI who can find anything. I liked the Mercy Thompson novels cause she's such a cool character, that series is mostly about werewolves. Terry Pratchett writes some very funny novels about a world called Discworld that is balanced on the backs of four giant elephants who stand on the back of a large tortoise. They are very funny but you have to understand British humor. Death is a major character and he is very funny because he is constantly trying to understand humans and failing miserably. The twins share my taste in literature, especially Sierra (who I think was really supposed to be my daughter, don't tell Kelsey), she is very much like me. I like books with some humor in them.
