Just wanted to let you know I posted some discussion questions for the book club.
oh those are all on my plan to read so def let me know how they go! haha counting down the days til then huh? :P do you have exams all that first week of december?
Yeah, I only watch it sporadically now. I think its cause I just REALLY miss Marian. Omg!! They literally make a movie/remake out of EVERYTHING these days! I love how youre always the one to fill me in on an upcoming movie! Oh wow, imdb says that Matthew Macfadyen is playing the Sheriff of Nottingham...Can you put a mental image of the former Mr.Darcy next to the gold-toothed villain from the BBC series? x) Oh wow, just for him, I cant wait! Why, thank you! I hope I'll be able to find the opportunity to go too. Its just gonna be a dream for these next few years. I wish you the best of luck as well!!New Moon was definitely better than Twilight. Would you believe some people are saying the 1st one was better?? They must be on crack. I did like it. lol, soo, how about those blood red contacts? Its too bad they're changing Victoria to someone else. I like this girl but I think the next girl's gonna be good too.
hey there haven't heard from ya in a bit. been readin anything good lately?
Haha, actually yeah. (You can find it at casttv.com) I just heard that they wont be making a season 4 cause Jonas Armstrong wants to pursue other roles. What part did you last watch up to?It stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. So basically, an esl teacher. I think Im gonna start out teaching in public schools and then later go abroad to places like Japan where there's a big demand for it. Oh, youre doing admin? My dad wants me to do that but I dunno, I cant see myself going that way. I wish I was only taking 3 classes, Im so tired of studying for exams! I think next semester I'll only hafto take 3 instead of 5. (Hopefully I'll be able to take it a little easy in my last semester)Yup yup, Im going! I bought my tickets weeks ago haha. My friends and I are going for the midnight show late Thurs/early Fri. The first one was just...ugh, I dunno what that was. I hope this one puts the 1st one to shame (I dunno if that'd be that hard). I must say, though, Im not so sure about Dakota Fanning as Jane.
LOL, I'm glad you saw my point. So I was just about to say "I wish Toby would act in another BBC role or at least something!! But omg, you know what I just realized! I've been watching Season 3 of Robin Hood, and in the last few episodes there was this character that made me think "Wow, he looks a lot like Toby", only, he's slimmer and his character's so annoying. I just looked it up and its actually him! x)Well, I have two public grad schools that I'm starting the application process for. I would have loved to go to NYU but its just too damn expensive! Youre lucky you're only in it for another year; The program I'm going for (TESOL) is going to take me 4-5 :/ But at least its a major I really enjoy, so, its not all bad. I just want to start teaching already! In the meantime, I guess I'll just tutor so it can add to my experience. So in a year, what do you think you'll find yourself doing?
I was referring to an abrupt segue to a scene in Toby's Jane Eyre where I think he catches his wife with another guy. It was just unexpected, thats all. And I think so too, at times Rafe Spall didnt seem to be completely present and it kept making me think "Is he confused on how to act or does he think this is really how Edward was??" *shrugs* Oh, wellOkay, I'll read the book after I watch it, then. I actually have another movie of his downloaded but I always wind up watching something else. Its called Half Light with Demi Moore. I think its a thriller, which is pretty different for Hans, dontcha think? Ive been trying to find the movie/drama of his where he played King Nero, have you heard of it?I'm okay, I could be better, though, to be honest. School's getting really tedious and I just want to graduate! I'm starting to look for grad schools and consider my options. What about you, hows everything?
Oh, its fine, I know youre busy, I just wanted to pass it on to someone with the same interests!Yeah, the ending took a really weird turn but I guess thats the main part of the story. That heated affair on the other side of the door was like...wow, am I watching a period drama or what, but Toby Stephen's Jane Eyre had a...transgression like that one too. (Remember? that one was even more unexpected) I saw a little resemblance but I wonder if Rochester was AS stoic as Rafe Spall was.Ohh yeah, I forgot that he's in Mists of Avalon. Should I just watch it? I mean, I think I'd watch it anyways, considering Hans is in it...:] I think I was saving it for after I read it but I know I wont get to it anytime soon.Good luck with everything!
Hely, I'll reply to our discussion later. :) I'm already on Part Two of Graceling. Started it only last night. And I just wanted to tell you, I'm so grateful you recommended this book to me. So far, everything it fantastic! And I love Kristin Cashore's style of writing. :) Very poignant and fluid. Catch up with you later. I'm to read as much as I can because I'm back to work tomorrow. *not really looking forward to it* ^_^
I've just finished reading The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman and it was fantastic. It was the first book by Gaiman that I've read and excited to read some of his other novels. I'm going to start Graceling later tonight and then after I'm done, we could discuss it! I'm looking forward to that! ♥ I thought Fire was the sequel to Graceling. Thanks for clearing it out Hely! I'm so excited to start reading Graceling. I've heard tremendous praises for Kristin Cashore and her books. Hely, you're my soul mate!!! I'm a big fan girl of Gale and Madge since their first encounter in The Hunger Games at the Mayor's house when Katniss and Gale sold her the strawberries. I just felt that there was something. ♥ And as readers of romance, we know that that kind of encounter could lead to something later on. So I had my hopes up! ♥ Then I started searching the internet for some Gale and Madge stuff but a lot of the THG fans downright hated the idea of Gale ending up with Madge because they think it's only the idea of PeetaKatniss fans to remove Gale away from the picture so K could end with P. So the little fan girl in me wavered a little. But then Catching Fire came along and when Madge was at the Everdeen's doorsteps offering medicine for Gale, I became ecstatic! That was the sign from Suzanne Collins that I was looking for! And then I knew, there has to be something going on between these two. I think Madge likes/admires Gale. I think Gale and Katniss are both strong individuals and I see them ending up with someone who could soften them and I can see Madge doing that to Gale and we'd already seen what Peeta could do for Katniss. And I just love Peeta. I agree! I remember re-reading that part where he showed Katniss his locket with pictures of Katniss' mother and Prim and Gale. That was so unselfish of Peeta! He was willing to risk his life for the safety and the happiness of the girl he loves. And I think that's telling something about the level of love that Peeta has for Katniss. Some fans said Peeta's feelings for Katniss wass just infatuation/childhood crush. But then that scene with the locket tells us a lot of how he truly feels. That's why I love Peeta/Katniss and Madge/Gale. I hope that's how the story will end too Hely.♥ I'm truly hoping. At first, I was thinking it was destroyed as well but then, we never know with Collins! She's one of the most unpredictable writers I've ever read and I admire her for it. If District 12 never really existed, that will add an all new perspective to the story. Because there will be so many questions to answer, like if there was no District 12, then what happened to Katniss? Why did she think that she was living in District 12? Did the Capitol do something to her that would make her imagine that a District 12 existed? I don't know Hely! The story just gets exciting. ♥ I can't wait for the third book! I heard it was coming out 2010. One member of Amazon.com commented that the next book in the series will be titled The Victors (which in my honest opinion, is so uncreative. The first two books were wonderfully titled!) but I wouldn't believe it until I've read it from SC's website. PS: I love your avatar! I miss Casper.♥
Something in common then :)And thank you! I adore Heffalump...the whole lot of the characters really. The picture was too irresistible. And thank you for adding me on as a friend!
Just wanted to pop in a moment to say that I love your avi, Helena. I remember seeing Casper over 20 times when I was a younger. It was my favorite movie at the time.
so far it's about a girl who passes away, and while she's in heaven she wants to know how she died, because the people around her think she committed suicide even tho she knows she didn't. so she gets sent back to earth for 3 days, but gets placed in a mans body while he's still alive lol it sounds so strange but it's really really cute so far :)
I saw a box set as well. But I didn't buy it (although I'm tempted to) because it would just be a waste of money if I didn't enjoy the first book. ^_^ But same here, I've heard wonderful reviews about the entire series. ♥ I'm on a YA roll these days. Haven't read romance in quite awhile. ^^
Hely, I'm, hands down, Team Peeta! I don't know. I love Gale. I was actually cheering for him during the first half of the book but then when when Peeta comes along, I totally forgot that I was cheering for Gale. There's just something about Peeta that draws me in. Maybe it was his loyalty, his love and devotion for Katniss. And he's not afraid to show that at times, he can also be weak which I love about this character. He's so very well-rounded and makes him more human to me. I hope Peeta doesn't die. I was reading some fan forums lately regarding Team Peeta vs. Team Gale and a lot of people were saying that Peeta would die so Katniss and Gale would be happy and I was like.. No way! That would have been so predictable. And if you knew Collins, she's anything but predictabe. And I agree! Both books are amazing! Towards the end, I actually already decided that I can't choose between the two books but then when I read the ending, BAM! I was just totally surprised. It blew me away because I was not expecting it. The whole revelation (though I had a little inkling already), still made me shock. I was actually thinking the same thing because I wasn't sure how Suzanne Collins would surpass the level she had set for THG but then again, she did it. I was actually going to ask you about it. What does he mean when he said that there weren't any District 12? Like he meant it was erased from the map because of the bombing or that it never really existed it? (Hely, I can't contain my excitement for Book 3) I hope it comes out already! Anyway, on to the other book we're talking about, I'm about to start Graceling after finishing The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman ( haven't finished STS because my ipod is broken). I was supposed to read North and South by Gaskell next but I couldn't pass up Graceling especially now that I know that the Book Blogging world is raving about it. Anyway, have you read Fire by Cashore? Is it good as well? Hope to talk to you soon Hely! I enjoy this discussion we're having. We should do it always! ♥ Our next book should be Graceling after I'm done reading it.♥ Talk to you soon. ^_^
yeah i really like the series :P np :)i finished it and ended up loving it!now i'm readin you had me at halo
Hely, I have a copy of Graceling!!! Yay! I saw the last copy and I knew I had to buy it. *laughs* I also have The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. I have finished Catching Fire! Loved it! What did you think? Do you think it's better than The Hunger Games?
haha it's actually the blue blood series, and i think the first book is the best :) i highly recommend that series. it's my 2nd fav series, barely behind twilight
I know! I can't believe that it's already out of stock but then again it's Lisa Kleypas so what would I expect? *laughs* I think I'm going to go for Sara Dessen's Just Listen. ♥ One of my friends recommended Dessen to me and said I should go for Just Listen. Your description of Graceling makes me want to read it Hely.♥ I've been searching for a good YA novel after reading The Hunger Games. I'm just a few pages shy of finishing Catching Fire. I had a rough week last week because I need to finish tons of work because I'm going on vacation. I'm on vacation from October 23 till November 4 and I will be using that to read as many books as I can.♥ Happy reading Hely.♥
haha yeah, hopefully!!thanks :) i love that movie :Pim finally making progress on my blue bloods book! woohooo!! :P
