Dr. Spencer Black was a good doctor. His colleagues all respect him. That is until Dr. Black started his own experiments. This book is about Dr. Black and his experiments all the way leading up to his disappearance. In this book are all the pictures of the creatures that Dr. Black was researching.

This book is creepy but memorizing at the same time. It was like I was really reading the journal of a mad but brilliant man. I say brilliant because Dr. Black although he may have turned into a monster in the name of science he still was trying to further investigate and research all that science had to offer.

When Dr. Black started creating his own blend of monsters in his lab and the results that was scary. However I was also intrigued by them as well. As you can tell I can not say enough great things about this book. This book needs to be turned into both a big screen movie and television series. Mr. Hudspeth holds nothing back with his first book. I anxiety await his next book. The Resurrectionist is a must read and probably one of the best books I have read in 2013! Don’t walk but run to the bookstore or type as fast as you can online to pick up a copy of this book today.

Very good book. In order to pay the bills at his horse ranch, Logan has to sell his favorite horse. As he is driving her across Australia to her new home he stops at a fancy horse farm overnight. There he meets Sunny. Sunny is drifting after her Olympic dreams crashed and burned, but something about Logan draws her in. After one awesome night together, Sunny stows away in his camper so she can go with him.

I really liked both Logan and Sunny. Logan is a really sweet guy. He worked long and hard to get the money he needed to start his own horse ranch. He doesn't want to sell his filly since she was going to be one of his breeders but he needs the money to keep the ranch going. When he meets Sunny he is very attracted to her but knows she is well out of his league. He doesn't expect her to show up at his camper and give him the best night he's ever had. When he finds her in the camper the next day he decides to let her tag along on the trip. I really liked the way that Logan knew what he wanted and was willing to do the tough things to make them happen. Even though Sunny was willing to buy the horse from him he was determined to honor his commitment to the original purchaser. I loved seeing him get to know Sunny as they traveled and how his emotions got more involved. As much as he came to love Sunny he still had some serious issues with their economic differences. They had a lot in common with their love of horses but he still had a hard time thinking that there could be anything permanent between them.

Sunny had spent her life trying to live up to her father's expectations. When her Olympic dreams tanked her father became even more obnoxious to her and she was even more lost as to what she wanted to do with her future. Logan's arrival on her father's horse farm was just what she needed. Her attraction to him was instant and intense. She didn't want to stop at one night with him and decided to tag along on his trip. They started out with plans for just being together for the length of the trip and then going their separate ways. She started out as seeming pretty spoiled with not having to think about money or consequences of her actions. The more time she spent with Logan the more she started to think about what she really wanted her life to be like. I liked the way that she came to understand Logan and his dreams and how she realized that she wanted to be a part of his future. I also enjoyed seeing the ways she had changed by the time she got back home.

I liked the way that the prologue set up the premise of the series. When the elderly Ms. Quinn discovers that she has family she never knew about she sets out to find them. Logan is the first she locates. I love the effect that her search has on him.

The Moonstone is creating havoc with space and time.

Phaeton is trapped, leaving America alone and very pregnant. Phaeton is being held captive by Domina Valour and all the stops are pulled out to discover his where a bouts and form a rescue plan.. but Domina seems to be one step ahead of the Investigators.

Mia is having difficulties controlling her shifts and its causing wild sexual cravings...cravings she is focusing all on Dr. Exeter.

This is a highly erotic steampunkish story. To help control Mia's shifts, Dr. Exerter must teach her how to control herself through sexual release...while fighting his own personal desires for the young woman who has been living under his care. Of course, Mia has other plans and attempts pushes Exerter into sexual overload at every turn.

The story was extremely interesting and original with a great balance of erotica aspects and substantial plot building. Complex and developed story with panty melting sex, The Miss Education of Dr. Exeter was a brilliantly crafted read.

I received this ARC copy of The Miss Education of Dr. Exeter from Kensignton Books in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication June 25, 2013.

Holly Carrington worked hard to finally make a name for herself as an interior designer with one of the top firms in the country. On the day she was promoted, she got that awful phone call, learning that her sister and brother-in-law were killed in a car accident, leaving her as guardian to their six-month old daughter Ella. Holly had arranged to take two months off to help her sister renovate their grandmother’s house in her home town in Red River, not far from Toronto where she currently lives. Now she was left to complete the project but had no plans to keep the property. Plus, she was in no hurry to face Quinn Manning, the man who rejected her ten years ago and was handling the renovation (he runs his family’s building construction company).

This ended up being a bittersweet romance as Holly struggled to deal with the loss of her last relative, learn to take care of an infant and keep her career afloat. She never got over Quinn and he’s ready to pursue a relationship and wants her back in Red River for good. What I loved about the story is that it didn’t fall into the trap of Holly not knowing how to keep all the balls in the air but focused on her emotional turmoil around so much loss. Her fear of commitment made sense as a part of her closed down to protect herself. That included Ella, who she loved dearly but related to her as an aunt instead of what she was destined to be, her mother.

It’s a simple story and one I really enjoyed. Quinn is highly appealing as he is committed to not only Holly but little Ella. There were lots of heartwarming moments as they not only bonded with each other but with this charming little baby. So, if you’re in the mood for a sweet story set in a small town with a romance that heats up rather nicely (and hotly), try out this book. I’m already looking forward to going back there when Quinn’s brother, Jake, and Holly’s best friend Claire, are center stage.

At a masquerade ball, Molly Devaney shares a very hot kiss and a steamy encounter with some masked man she believes to be Garrett Gage. She then believes that they were meant to be together, but has not yet revealed himself to be her masked man. Molly and her sister Kate were orphans at a young age and came to live with the wealthy Gage family. As soon as Molly and the younger Gage son Julian first met when she was 3 and he was six, they have felt a connection. I love the anecdote about the time when Molly first met Julian and she took her lollipop out of her mouth when she was little and handed it to Julian and he popped it in his. So cute. Julian and Molly turn into best friends. The frustrating thing for them, particularly Julian, is that his family kept trying to condition the two of them that they must never have a romantic relationship. Another moving anecdote is when Molly wanted to take Julian to the prom and the family told her that she must always think of him only as a brother and she broke down in tears. It’s baffling that the family didn’t just let nature take its course. A lot of headaches, as well as a lot of pain for Julian and Molly could have been saved if the family hadn’t interfered. Like I said, I think the worst thing the family did, even though they thought it was for the right reasons, was not just that they tried to keep the two apart but the way they tried to condition them and buck their natural instincts. A little unnecessarily cruel to my way of thinking.
Anyway, the story starts out with Molly hoping to get Julian to help her win his brother Garrett. The plan is to pretend they are a couple, thus inciting Garrett’s jealousy and making him fall for Molly. Julian is at first happy to help, if not a little surprised by Molly’s interest in his brother. However, it doesn’t take long for him to get in touch with his true feelings for Molly, feelings he’s been made to bury all these years. The scenes between Julian and Molly were at times funny, moving, intense, and very sexy. I look forward to reading more by this author and catching the story of Molly’s sister Kate.

Spartan Frost is Logan Quinn's short story, this takes place after Crimson Frost.

Logan Quinn is the strongest warrior in Mythos Academy, possessed he almost commits the most heinous crime...killing Gwen Frost and his friends.

Removing himself from the academy and all his friends, Logan has lost faith in himself. He is living with his father and they soon discover that the Reapers aren't done and the battle is far from over.

Spartan Frost is great insight into the mind of Logan after is ordeal. It might be short but it packed a punch...giving us just enough that make us want to beg for more! The Mythos Academy is a wonderful young adult series. Anxiously waiting for Midnight Frost coming July 30, 2013.

I received this ARC copy of Spartan Frost from Kensington Books in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication June 25, 2013.

They are living among us but superior in so many ways. We don't even know the danger exists from this ultimate predator, but war is coming and the humans are going to get caught in the middle. You might wonder who they are...well they are the Ikati. A savage, passionate and lethal beings with supernatural abilities. Some can shift, some can turn to mist and some are tired of hiding what they truly are...

Eliana is Ikati, living on the fridges of society she is in hiding from her own people. She one day dreams of living openly with humans and many are her friends, but a sinister plot may destroy all her dreams and hopes for her people and their future.

D, Demetrius, was once a guard to the royal family. Searching for Eliana has become an obsession for D. Knowing the evil enemy that hides in the ranks of the missing Ikati, D will stop at nothing to save Eliana from the path that is rushing toward them.

Swept away by this fabulous tale, I found Rapture's Edge completely captivating. J. T. Geissinger wove a tale of intrigue, romance, mystery, fantasy and action while building a dark and vivid world within our own world. Although this is the third book in this series, it stood on its own with no feeling of catching up or confusion. This was a contemporary fantasy with a good touch of hot and steamy romance...a perfect read for me.

I received this copy of Rapture's Edge from Montlake Romance in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication June 18, 2013.

Absolutely great addition to this series. This book picks up about a two weeks after the second book ended. Reyes is now tied to his body and Charley is unable to sleep without dreaming of him. So the humor begins right at the beginning with a sleep deprived Charley attempting to find a doctor's missing wife. There a fascinating new characters introduced as well as an ominous prophecy made about Charley's immediate future. The action between Reyes and Charley is as hot and humorous as ever. Probably more so as this is the first time they have physically near one another.
I don't know about every one else but Reyes, and Charley's interactions with him, were very different in this book. I like that Jones changed the dynamics. Sometimes authors don't change how the love interest acts even when something in the couples relationship has been drastically altered. That is not the case in this series. Charley has done something to Reyes that was betrayal of the highest order and you can see it in the way he acts toward her. He still loves her but he can't forgive her.
I'm excited to see where this whole story is heading. The hints about a war and the abilities that Charley does not yet know she possesses are really intriguing. I am not sure how Charley is going to get out of the current predicament she found herself in at the end of the book but I am sure it will be a great story.
